Running with waverider since about model 12 and loved them. I always look for maximum cushion in a neutral shoe because i have a very high rigid arch and had trouble with posterior shin splints for a long time (from an orthopedic surgeon and other shoe specialists.) So i always have to try them on in a store first, and pick the one that feels the most cushioned. Before these i ran Saucony Shadow for years, until i tried on these and was blown away by the soft ride and didn't even know Mizuno made running shoes! So, to the point, i felt safe ordering these online since i am using them for several years. i was in shock, and my body literally, because they felt like almost cushion at all!! My previous OLD Waverider 14's felt better than these out the box. Maybe they were an old or defective pair, so if you had a similar experience, your not crazy! otherwise i hope this helps someone. Sadly, i returned them and now running in Asics Gel Nimbus because they were the best of the models i tried in the store, but i am not thrilled with them (I do get an AMAZING number of compliments on the flashy white ones!! mostly men! go figure). Guess I'll try some of the one RR's website picks for N and N+, like the Triumph. Should have done that in the first place!
Not So Sure
Have run nine marathons and used the WR for the past 5 years. WR-11, 12 and 13 were great. 14 had some problems, and 15 was ok, but took some break-in time. Just tried on the 16s at the Mizuno booth at the Marine Corps Marathon expo (ran the MCM in the WR-15s with no problems). The WR-16 felt like they were forcing my foot "outward", like there was too much rise in the inner side of the heel. Though I've only just tried them on, I don't think I got a good impression and may, after being loyal to Mizuno for years, look for something else. Just my opinion, but I don't think the WR-16 is going to be the long awaited return to the great WR-13 model. I will always recommend Miz shoes because I truly loved them for quite some time. They may also be great for others, but I may pass on this one. Any other past WR wearers have alternative suggestions? I have not worn any other brand for the past 5 years.
Still not the 13
I owned and loved the amazing Wave Rider 13's, but Mizuno just refuses to go back to a great design I guess. A Mizuno rep I talked to told me the 16 is effectively a new upper on top of the same platform as the 15. Just pick one up in the store and try to flex this shoe, it feels like a pine board. Then do the same thing with almost any other shoe on the wall and you'll feel the difference. It actually felt better than I thought running in it, but I could still feel the clunky-ness that has pervaded this line since the 13. Oh well, maybe next year.
On the positive side, if you can stomach the absolutely nauseating colors, the Mizuno Precision 13 is extremely similar to the old Wave Rider 13. Fan's of the old Wave Riders should definitely check em out.
The running coder
I'm a beginner at running. I'm bow legged, flat footed, heavy set, have wide feet and I over pronate. I was having problems with shin splints, knee pain, ankle pain and so on. These shoes solved all of those issues. After trying all the different Nikes, Asics, Brooks and so on I decides on these Mizunos in the white and orange colorway. Honesty the best when it came to comfort, performance, durability, Price!!!, and style. Honestly have nothing negative to say about the shoe. Perfect for running, walking, gym or just casual wearers. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great versatile running shoe.

I'm a beggining runner. I am flat footed, bow legged, heavy set, have wide feet and over pronate. I tried multiple shoes by multiple brands such as Nike, Asics, Brooks etc. I chose these Mizunos in the white and orange colorway because when it came to comfort, durability, cushioning, Price!!! And style these were the perfect fit. Before these I would always get shin splints, knee and ankle pain during and after my runs. These shoes eliminated those issues. Nothing negative to say about these. If you're looking for a great gym/running or walking/casual shoe these are it for you.

A very good shoe!
I've been wearing WRs since the very first model. Had some I loved and some that were only OK. I try other brands and Mizuno models and keep coming back to the WR for my heavy mileage shoes because they always fit me perfectly. This model is much lighter than the WR14/15 and feels it. Very comfortable. I like the bright yellow and you will too. Can't comment on durability yet, but in the past the WR far outlasted anything else I wore. I'd actually rate these at 4-1/2 stars. Good stuff, never mind the overly critical snipes from some users. If you liked the WR before you'll probably also really like the WR16.

Not as great as the WR13s
No shoe in the entire Mizuno line has come close to the effortless, magical shoe that was the Rider13's. This shoe is basically the Rider15's with a new upper that is lighter and feels more comfortable than the 15's. The heel cushioning is more than adequate but for midfoot/forefoot strikers, the cushioning at the mid and front half of the shoe isn't quite substantial enough to last for longer runs of more than 10 miles. I really wish they bring back the rider13's for a limited production run. I would buy a hundred pairs if possible!
The best shoes I've ever owned.
I'm 56 and have been running for 30 years, most of that time in ASICS. Did a Shoe Dog at an RR store and they recommended these Wave Riders against the ASICS. Holy smokes, I nearly started crying over all the money I'd been wasting running on those overstuffed ASICS. By comparison, these Mizunos are light, fast and feel absolutely engineered. I've now owned 4 pairs of the Waverider 16s - two are history, one's in rotation and the other's in the box for later this year. For me anyway, these things are perfect.
Wish I Was Younger!
This shoe is definitely not for bigger guys. I'm 6'4" and 270lbs, and for the first 3 months I loved this shoe. Then the wave plate in the heel of the right shoe gave out. I do treadmill and elliptical twice a day, not "heavy running" but thankfully I'm a vip and had the 90 guarantee. RRS hooked me up with a new pair of mizunos, got the creation 14's as they said it would better handle someone my size. Love my new creations, disappointed in the riders. Loved the yellow color, breathability and fit.
First pair of Mizuno Wave Riders Awesome
These shoes are great!! These are my first pair of Mizunos and I love them. The shoe does have a nice heel to toe transition. I do run faster in these shoes. The cushioning is great but not too much. The shoes are very light too. I highly recommend these shoes. My knees feel great, my legs feel great, my back feels great too, after every run. I run about 3 - 4 times a week between 3.1 - 5 miles for each run, at a pace of 6:45 - 7:30 minutes / mile.
Lightweight, fast, and eye-catching!
First, a bit about me: I'm 5'9", 175 lbs, and running 3-4 days a week now. I have wide feet and prefer 2E in most brands. This shoe definitely fits 'true to size'; if anything, it's a bit loose, but not too much so; overall, incredible fit, really light-weight, and very comfortable right out of the box. I've been an Asics guy in recent years, but this Mizuno has made me a believer! Highly recommended.
I'm a mizuno fan now
This is my third pair of these puppies and I love them. Just enough cushion to handle my usual shin pain. Light and comfy. My only complaint is that it wears out quickly after 200 miles especially around the outer middle part. Maybe it's the way I run but will try to change that. Nevertheless, I'm a mizuno fan now after being on the Asics bandwagon for a while.

Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 (Good pair)
I run around 30+ miles a week, completed a full marathon and training for my next one June 2nd. Was stuck with Nike because of the looks leaving me with some It band pain. I quickly switched over to Mizunos and felt a difference along with some extra stretching. The only somewhat bad part about this shoe is that the heel feels a little stiff but maybe thats what I needed afterall.
Ordered the shoes Wednesday. Got them Friday. Pulled them out of the box and ran 14 miles on Saturday without any problems. This model is lighter than prior models and will be good for training and longer races. Seems like they might not be as durable but I love them and will continue to buy the Wave Rider. Have been running in them exclusively for years.
Perfect Trainer for the "Neutral" Runner
I have been running in Mizuno Waverider for many years. The shoe has gone through several mild changes over the years. It use to be a little heavier and more stable. Now it is lightweight, seems to fit a little snugger and is less bulky than previous Waverider models. If you are a "Neutral" to Neutral-Plus" runner according to RoadRunnerSports.com this shoe is for you.
Can't say enough about these. Very responsive, great cushioning both heel and forefoot (I'm a fore foot runner). Colors are a bit out there. Very light weight too. I'm 6'4" 270ish, and these don't bottom unlike the Nike Zoom Vomero, NB 1080V3 and Saucony Powergrid Triumph 10.
Definitely recommend this shoe!
I am a Mizuno convert. Have tried other brands but none come close to Mizuno for my feet. Initially ordered size 15, however heel slippage was a problem. I ordered size 14 and slippage is not a problem anymore. Running for years and would have to say this is the best shoe I have ever worn.
Light but smooth ride
I'm a big guy over 6'4" about 195 pounds. The shoe is fairly lightweight and seems to have adequate cushioning. I typically run in Brooks glycerin or asics Nimbus. This shoe seems similar to those but a little lighter and perhaps a little less cushioned. I've only worn it a few times but it seems like it'll be a good match for me.
This is essentially the same shoe as the WR-15 with lighter materials on the upper and a softer heel counter. However, for me, the forefoot cushioning is still way to firm and almost stiff feeling so I did Not buy this update. Mayb have to try out the new Inspire 9 as an alternative?
Great, Comfortable Shoe
I use it for running, and working out in the gym(my basement) These shoes are very comfortable and didn't require any breakin period for me! I haven't noticed any issues with these models yet and these are my second pair, third if you count the older model Wave Rider 15 :)

Everything I could want
I am a former 10, 000 Olympic finalist and past pro runner.I have recently started back running after over a 12 year layoff. These are the best shoes I have ever owned and want to get a backup pair.
Big Mac Hhawu
The most amazing shoes I've run in yet!
I run as a student athlete at Manasquan High School and needed a pair of shoes that are as durable and effective in all events I do at track and these shoes fit the bill. I couldn't have asked for a better pair of sneakers.
My Favorite Shoe Keeps Getting Better
The Wave Rider 16 feels lighter and more nimble than previous models. It's a very comfortable training shoe for average to high arch heels and low to mid mileage runners.
Well-priced, I get about 350 miles out of a pair before I change pairs.
The best ever!
Most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. And they're bright yellow. I was afraid to wear them, but everyone tells me it's the style now. Finally I'm in style while they are in style, and not a year late. They are also the lightest shoe I've worn.
Returned for different brand
Tested these in store and they had an amazing forward rolling feeling. Ran in them through the week on concrete in hot weather and there was nothing. Just the hard thud of my legs pounding the pavement. Replaced with a shoe with more cushioning.
I bought these shoes to primarily wear at the hospital for many long days. So far they have been great. I get a tone of compliments due to the yellow color, but they feel great on my feet as well. I have a hot foot and they stay cool with my RRS drymax socks.
I'm enjoying this update to the Wave Rider. It's a lighter show that doesn't feel like it has sacrificed cushioning. I'm running about 20 miles per week in them and they feel great. Wasn't sure about getting them in bright yellow, but I like the look.
I don't know much...
I have only tried two pairs of running shoes but I love these the best! I have narrow feet so these are a bit wide for me, but with insoles in, they fit fine. You should love them if you have normal to wide feet.

Great Shoe for Half Marathons
Great shoe for me. Relieved my foot hot spots caused by other running shoes. Firm enough for good support in fore foot unlike Mizuno Wave Rider 17s that are too soft in the fore foot.
Santa Ynez, CA
WORKS GREAT FOR MO WIDE FEET HIGH ARCHES
I GOT THE EE WIDTH I READ OTHER COMMENTS ON SMALL TOE GETTING RUBBED ON THE STICHING ON THE INSIDE, THE STICH DOES STICH OUT BUT MY TOE DOES NOT HIT IT . THIS IS THE BEST SHOE I HAVE HAD IN 15 YEARS , I GOT THE EE WIDTH
