Product MIZ784 Review

Poor fit for me.

My second try at the Wave Prophecy. The first series were just too hard on my calves. These shoes seemed to fit my wide feet with no problem, even though they are not available in a wide fitting. However, the ankle area seemed to shift around on my ankle, even with the laces done up tight. This resulted in ankle rub/blisters within a few runs. For this reason, they got returned. The laces are about 4 miles long! How does a shoe manufacturer get something so basic, so very wrong? Not sure about all this springy/pogo stick description some of the other reviewers have mentioned, but I find the Wave Prophecy's are very hard going, with little in the way of cushioning (I weigh 173 lbs, so not a heavy footed runner) I also strongly agree with a previous poster, that these shoes have zero traction. Be warned if running on wet surfaces or metal man hole covers etc! A lot of money for very little return :( I'll pass again Mizuno. Back to the Nimbus 16's

Previous versions far superior

The previous versions of this shoe are all excellent. I've owned at least 2 pairs of each. I've also owned most of the Wave Creations and those are excellent. This shoe, however, is absolutely terrible. As has been mentioned, the toe area is too roomy. The top block of the shoe doesn't fit snugly around the ankle and bends/creases around the sides when you step. The shoe laces included are about 2 feet too long. I ran in these for a few weeks and then gave up and relegated them to dog walking shoes, where they are even insufficient for that. For some reason Roadrunner now considers these "Neutral" as opposed to "Neutral Plus". I think this change might have occurred with the last version. I don't know if that's relevant.

Like running on spring shoes

Great shoe. I run about 15-20 miles a week (when I'm not struggling with my Achilles). I run with these and the Brooks Glycerin. I prefer the Prophecy 3 for my long runs and races. They seem to return a lot of energy when running...almost like running with pogo sticks on your feet. The Glycerin's win out for easy recovery runs. The Prophecy's don't quite have the same amount of cushioning as the Glycerin's (which are like running with mattresses on your feet). But if you're looking for a shoe with a great deal of cushioning while also being responsive, look no further.

Terrible update

I am an avid runner and have been running for 20+ years. I am also a big fan of Mizuno. I have have had many pairs of both the Wave Creation and the previous versions of the Wave Prophecy. I really loved the Wave Prohecy 2. However, this update is horrible. I completely agree with a few of the other comments on here. The toe box is too large. Plus, the material does not allow for a good fit. Every time your foot strikes the ground and bends the upper area around the laces digs into your toes. I have blisters on the tops of my toes after one run. This has not happened with any of the previous versions of the Prophecy.

Full of cushion!!!!!

I have multiple foot problems - high arch, bunions, wide fore foot, plantar fascitis. I have tried out >10 different running shoes to find one that works with all my various feet issues. This was my last shoe I tried & I LOVE IT!!!!! The cushion in the fore foot is wonderful, the arch support is great, and the toe box is wide enough for my wide foot & bunions. I couldn't be more happy with these shoes - I will buy them over & over!!

Love these shoes

Great shoe. Others mention that these are a little longer in the toe box but I prefer a little space. These are a great shoe. Nice stuff response on take off and just the right amount of shock absorption without feeling squishy. I ran 6 miles on a very groomed dirt and gravel trail some rocks and my feet felt fine afterwords. On the road they are great and very good on a track.

This 3rd version is great!

I use this product three times a week for road/ trail runs and these are my favorite shoes. They are very comfortable and the gum sole is much softer than than the earlier models. They fit great and are true to size. I have wide feet so I'd say they may run a little wide if anything. The only thing I don't like about these shoes are the weight and the look. Other than that I'd highly recommend!

Best update! I was so lucky to find my size at my local Road Runner Sports. They mentioned the new U4IC foam which is lighter and more resilient....very true. If you are looking for a shoe that is durable, cushioned, and allows you to run without thinking what is on your feet, Prophecy is the shoe.

Something not right

I have gone through 4 pairs of Prophecy 2 and absolutely love the shoe. Bought a pair of the new P3 and not happy. Something in the upper toe box isn't quite right and rubs painfully on my toes. I have tried stretching them and still can't get them broken in comfortably. Has rubbed the skin off my toes in part. Also, be careful on wet surfaces! The new new material on the sole is very slippery. Big disappointment.

Great Shoe

I run three times a week and I have been wearing the previous models of the Prophecy's. This newer model feels a lot different then the past. I would have to say that the Prophecy 3 is more flexible and feels softer than the previous ones. I honestly can't wait to see what Mizuno does to this shoe in the future

First run w Mizuno Prophecy 3 too big

I studied this shoe and bought despite all negative comments I read about it. I gave it a try but shoe is too big. It feels more like an 11 than a 10.5 and my normal shoe size is 9.5-10 depending on the maker. I bought with the advise of road runner sales person but I am sending it back. Thanks for the policy road runner has in place.

Great shoe would recommend.

Bought this shoe after only wearing asics. First run felt a little off due to it being such a different type of shoe. By the second run absolutely fell in love with how the shoe feels. Ran a 10k race just recently with the shoes and my feet felt amazing.

awsome shoes

I can't imagine why people are having problems with these shoes. I've ran about 25 miles in the last 2 weeks in them and love them. I've had other popular brands and these are 1 of my favorites. Can't wait to go for another run.

don't have one

Best running shoe ever!

I run 10-15 miles per week and these shoes do not disappoint. I have had issues with my feet getting sore running in certain shoes, but these cushion so well that I have gad no pain at all.

Best EveR!!

I cannot explain the difference with this shoe from any other I have ever worn. It has so much cushion and flows so smoothly from heel to toe. Absolutely love the new model.

Soft but painful arch

I used the shoes for about 2 days and I started having a pain in my arch. The arch support is a little stiff didnt fit well with my feet.

Most Comfortable Shoe Ever

I thought that Asics Gel Nimbus were the best, but I tried these because they were on sale. Loved them so much, I bought a second pair.
