After spending almost my entire running life (25 years) in Asics, I decided to give these a try because of the reviews and since they were being closed out at a terrific sale price. I love them. Even though they are marketed for mild pronation and stability, they are excellent for my high arches and moderate over-pronation. Very comfortable and breathable. I love how light they are. One of the best shoes I've ever run in (I run about 14-20 miles a week). They were a little snug and stiff at first...so much so I was concerned I might have to return them. But I stuck with them, and after a couple runs, they broke in nicely and now I couldn't be happier. A terrific shoe, especially for the price. This is really one of those "fly under the radar" deals that turned out well for me.
Durability in Question
Pulled them out of the box and ran a 25k race in them. As far as comfort and use right out of the box, I have no complaints at all! Very comfortable shoe and very light. My only criticism is that I have a tendence to strike on the outside of the heel on my right foot and after one short 25k run/race, the bottom of the shoe is showing tremendous wear in the area. I can only assume it is due to the lightweight material that is used to keep the weight of the shoe so reasonable and comfortable to carry/run in. So because I can't buy a new pair of shoes even after just maybe 100 miles on them, I'm going to have to look for something a little more durable and unfortunately, probably heavier!

Nice light, fast daily trainer
I used to run in the Asics DS Trainer as my daily running shoe and have switched to the NB 870V2. I wore a size 11 in the Asics but wear a 10.5 in the NB. I have used the 870V2 for long runs and tempo runs and it feels so versatile... on long easy runs I enjoy the cushioning while on tempo runs, I like the lightweight, speedy feel that allows an efficient, quick transition.
This shoe did take about 5 solid runs to break in, and now it just feels great.
This is a great shoe!
I need a stability shoe with a wide toe box, which is why I typically run in New Balance. The main downside is that New Balance stability tend to be a bit heavy. This shoe is about 2 oz lighter than the 1200 series shoes I have been running in (which is a lot on a long run). This shoe provides the perfect balance of support, light weight and comfort. After my first two 10-milers in them, they feel great - an excellent choice.

Service is next to none. I just wish I could get the right fit. I didn't order 1/2 size up like recommended and I should have. This is the second try to get the right shoe. New Ballance changes the shape of their upgrades from time to time and I have yet to find the shoe to replace the 770. This shoe looks pretty but is not shaped the same. I'll try a half size up. Third time... may work.
I like the shoe
I run @20 to 40 miles per week. The shoe is lighter than previous models and is well cushioned. The toe box is a little narrow for me, but overall the fit is very good. The size runs a little small. I purchased a 1/2 size larger than my previous New Balance 763, and found it to be a little small. The colors are vibrant, which I don't care for. Good buy for the money and recommend it to others.
Best shoe I have ever owned!!!
If you are looking for a comfortable and lightweight stability shoe, look no further. I've tried many different stability shoes- Brooks, Mizuno, Asics, and Nike, but the New Balance 870 v2 blows away the competition. I've put many miles on these shoes and they have exceeded all my expectations. Very comfortable, breathable, lightweight, durable, and dependable.
New Balance 870v2 a Winner
I recently began wearing orthotics and could not find a good fit & cushioned ride with my two current popular brand running shoes. I decided to try New Balance after discussion with my RR expert. The combination of NB870v2 shoes with a Stealth insole and Balega socks has been fabulous. I've got my mojo back. Thanks.
I loved the NB 763 and could not do without them for the last twelve years. When NB finally discontinued 763 this year, a staff member from Road Runner suggested that I give 870V2 a try. I am very glad she suggested this, 870V2 is not only lighter and faster, they cushion impacts and allow my 63 years old legs to run harder and longer.

Beware: buy a half-size larger
The first time I tried these on I suspected there would be trouble with the left shoe being too small. One of my left foot toes was catching on an inside 'seam' - a border between the outter piping and the mesh on the toe box. After 3 runs and 18 miles I realized I had to return them. I have two other pairs of New Balance size 11 shoes that were fine (model 663 and 737) so this model was just made too small.

I bought these shoes on the recommendation of a friend. I bought these Thursday, they were delivered Friday and I ran a PR 1/2 marathon in them on Sunday. I paid attention to the fit and feel for the first few miles, and honestly didn't think about them at all after mile 3. I guess that's a good sign. Very pleased. Time will tell on durability.
Great shoe, durabilty no
Had these shoes for 6 months now. They run great, give stability and cushioning like I need with my difficult feet (hammertoe, arches, high instep). But... my socks are peeking trough the upper mesh now, that is unacceptable after 5 months, 15M/wk. Moving to another brand on advice of RRS excellent helpdesk.
Been wear NB shoes for quite a while now and these are the best yet. The minute I put these on, I felt as if they were made just for me. Very durable as I just recorded 500 miles on these and they don't feel as if they're about to break down yet. Ordered another pair just to keep on hand.
Great stability shoe for runners less than 140 pounds. Light weight, good pronation correction and great heal cushioning. I would recommend the 870 to anyone running on pavement looking for comfort and consistent stability.
Lightweigth Stability Shoe
I run five days/week alternating shoes using my NB880. The 870 NB is more comfortable than the neutral 880, especially on long runs. I highly recommend this shoe to anyone needing pronation correction and weighing less than 140 pounds.
nice alternative to Asics 2170
I was looking to replace Asics 2170 for lightweight support, gym, road, and occasional race. Though I have fairly flat feet, I like a responsive shoe. I'm 6', 172 lbs. Very comfortable in the early going; not too many miles yet. Great value.
I would buy this product again and again
Pruod to wear an proud american product made by americans in the USA this is the best pair of running shoe that I ever use and I used a lot of differents running shoe brands like asics, brooks, and many other.
Quebradillas, puerto rico
I'm diggin' them
I've been wearing Asics Kayano for years and finally decided to make a switch. So far they've been fantastic. Nice cushioning and lightweight feel. I typically run 30M+ a week and no complaints so far.
Another reason to love New Balance
I needed another pair of shoes to alternate with my NB 878 and I decided to break with the old classics and try a new shoe. I love it. Good fit, excellent impact absorption and lightweight.
Mike in Wisconsin
I would buy this product again.
This pair are light ,comfortable and with a very good cushioning for a light weight running shoe.

Fits OK after a few runs
After getting used to the fit. These shoes are alright. I've had them a couple of months.
