Women's New BALANCE® MINIMUS 1010 TRAIL :: When you really want to connect with the road, find the next best thing to barefoot in the Women's New Balance® Minimus 1010. You'll love the performance that these ultra-light, ultra-flexible trainers give you mile after mile. Enjoy natural-feeling runs that come from having a mere 4 mm heel-to-toe drop- that's about one-third of the drop you'd find in a standard running shoe - plus quick turning ability. And protect your feet from all the pokey stuff with a lightweight yet durable Vibram® outsole, and a padded midsole provides just enough cushion for a smooth ride. You can even run sockless! 5.9 ounces]>
...cannot get more than 200 miles out of them. The inside at the ball of the foot completely blows out. Have had 2 pairs and this has happened with each pair. The shoe is incredibly secure on the trails, is really lightweight and extremely comfortable...lots of toe box room. Love absolutely everything about the shoe except they DO NOT LAST. Friends of mine who had the same shoe experienced the same trouble area. I just purchased the 1010v2 (version 2)...hoping that New Balance has fixed the blow-out problem, cause the shoe is fantastic.
Love the grippy sole.
I typically wear these shoes for 5-7mile runs in mixed terrain & varied conditions. (Road, & very rocky trails, ice, snow/wet, & of course dry conditions). I love the feel, cushion, comfort level of these shoes; & the sole is absolutely fantastic. My only issue is that the mesh upper started tearing & showing wear almost immediately. I didn't even get a whole season out of them.

Great on-the-road-to Barefoot
I love these! These shoes are my go-to shoes for my 6-12 miles, 3x/wk runs, and my general weightlifting shoes. I usually wear socks with them, but have forgotten socks at home and ran in them with no problems. These provide much more cushioning than my Bikila Vibrams, so I use them for road running, tennis, and other activities on hard surfaces.
Run slightly big, lightweight!
This is the first trail shoe I've bought in awhile and I typically run in Nike Free 3.0's. This shoe runs slightly big and has a nice wide toe-box, but I have to lace it up pretty tight to get it feeling snug enough. I'm happy with it and love the lightweight feel while still feeling I have traction and support on the trail.
These shoes are stellar!
These are an excellent mix between the minimus 10's and a cushioned trainer. 4mm drop, a spit of cushion and a thin rock plate round them out. have run up to 24 milers with zero hot spots. LOVE these. I'm super excited to use these in an upcoming 50 mile trail ultra.
