Women's NEW BALANCE® 870V3 :: Soar with your strongest strides, enjoying a lighter-weight ride without sacrificing long-term support in the newly updated Women's New Balance® 870v3, ideal for stability runners looking for a lightweight shoe that won't break down after 200 miles. You'll get speedy responsiveness plus the protection you'd expect from an everyday trainer, while feeling more connected to your most natural strides thanks to the 8mm heel drop design. Plus, you're sure to secure your most comfortable feeling fit from this running shoe's mesh upper that delivers a snug, breathable hold.
I recently purchased the New Balance 870v3 running sneaker while looking to replace my Mizuno Inspire 9's. I loved the Inspire 9 and PR'd in many races last year wearing them. Mizuno then upgraded to version 10 which I found absolutely horrible. The sneakers gave me calf strain for about 2 months. I tried different sneakers and even went back to my tried and true Asics DS Trainers, but I wanted something lighter, and with the same feel as my beloved Mizuno Inspire 9's.
After reading the reviews for the New Balance 860v3, I figured I'd give them a try especially since one of the reviewers stated that they ride and feel like the Mizuno Inspire 9's. When I received the sneaker I had hill repeats scheduled to run that day and I slipped on the NB 860's. Although the shoe is a bit light for hill repeats, I have to say that my foot instantly thanked me as the feel was almost identical to the Mizuno Inspire 9's. The NB860's gave me good arch support, enough cushion for a light weight shoe and good traction. My foot felt, "at home".
I have only worn the sneaker twice as I plan to wear them as my speed work and race sneaker so I am unable to comment on the shoe's durability. Fingers crossed (although I wouldn't mind purchasing another pair sooner than I'm used to if need be).
Satisfied thus far!

Heel & back of foot feels supported.
This shoe was being compared by me to a few other shoes. One of the other contenders was the NB 810. This NB 870 shoe has less cushioning under the ball of the foot than the 810, however, it is still good! My heel and the back 1/2 of my foot felt like they were strongly supported. This may be a plus for some people, but it felt as if the outer part of my foot, below my ankle area had much more pressure on them. This is due to the shape of the support in the shoe. It felt like my heel and the back of my feet were sitting in an elongated "C" shape cushion. While this shoe is probably GREAT for people with NARROW HEELS, it did seem to start to irritate my outer foot. It did great in helping pronation, since the ball of my foot rolls inward as I walk. The NB 810 doesn't help much in this area, but the ball of the foot area is waaaayyyy more supportive than this NB 870, but almost to an excess. The Hurricane 15s had all over support, FYI.

Found My Shoe
Great shoes. I have tried sooo many different shoes in the past 10 years- these are the first I've found that solve my foot/knee issues and are comfortable past 6 miles. Enough room in toe box, more room in length than most shoes, but I find this to be good. Flexible and cushiony but very responsive--feel much like Mizuno Wave Elixers. Good pronation control without being burdensome and I don't need insoles which is great. Only thing I add is a homemade metatarsal pad on my left foot and I am good. The 8mm drop is perfect. I will be buying more of these. Funny-my first pair of running shoes 35 years ago were NB-I should have stuck with NB and saved a lot of $, time and frustration. Thanks RRS for accepting so many returns-hopefully no more!!!
Have been a Saucony fan for years but recently bought a pair of NB trail runners and loved them. I'm training for a marathon and needed a new pair so thought I'd try the NB 870v 3's based on reviews and I'm so glad I did! Ran 5 miles on a treadmill on first use and they handled great. Took them on a 20 mile street run a day later and was very pleased. They have great support and are light. I feel like I have great control. Have lots of hills and feel lots of cushioning and legs/calfs not as tired or sore after run. Size runs one size small, I usually wear a size 10, an 11 was perfect. Love this shoe so far! Saucony who?
Light Shoe, Pretty Stable
I have been looking for a light, yet slightly stable shoe. I tried these and they are light. Much lighter than the brick Asics I've been running in. I've done only shortish runs in them so far (under 6 miles). You can really feel the support post in the middle of the shoe. It's quite noticeable in the first mile. Then I seem to forget its there. This weekend will be the longest run I do in them (12 miles) so we'll see how they handle. If I don't "feel" that support and my legs feel good after, I'll keep them. If not...they go back.
Overall they fit quite well. Roomy in the forefoot. Snug in the back, but not so tight as to give blisters.
This is my first pair of New Balance. I typically wear Mizuno Wave Inspire or Brooks Ravena, and these are pretty comparable. They are light weight but have good pronation control. I have narrow feet and these fit well, especially around the heal. I've only done a couple of 8 mile runs in them, but so far so good.
Thanks to the awesome folks at Road Runner for understanding my run form and helping find the right shoes for me!

short laces - nice bold color
I'm always a 7.5 Wide in NB. This pair was too tight, gave me blisters and the laces are too short. They may have been too short because I was trying to loosen it as much as I could (was still tight). Even though they are wides they are still too narrow. Good color, nice material (lightweight), and good stability. They would be a great shoe is you don't have wide feet.
I am training for a marathon and run a lot.
LOVE these shoes!!
SUPER comfortable shoes! I could wear these ALL day long. I've worn ASICS for the past 8 yrs, and this is my first pair of NB shoes. LOVE them :)
Lighter than my ASICS. I ordered a half-size up so my orthotics would fit inside. I also have a bunion on left foot, but the toe box is big enough not to put pressure on it. You HAVE to try these!

Love how they feel. But, not long term
I really love how these feel right out of the box. The cushioning feels great on long runs. But, I'm a heavy girl. I run about 20-25 miles a week; more when I'm training for a half. These last me only about 80 miles before that comfy cushioning is just about gone. That's just not long enough. The uppers hold up nicely. But, the cushioning doesn't. Disappointing.
Nice running shoes right out of the box!
Did a 22 mile long run with these right out if the box! Comfortable and spacious in the toe box. I have been getting terrible blisters on my big toes with other shoes. Despite trying all the usual things include going up a size and a half. No blisters with these. I didn't feel like they needed to be broken in either. Really nice ride and pretty powder blue.
Great shoes for runners with wide feet
I have had the 870 v2 before and this is a nice improvement in terms of flexibility. I have wide feet and love the fact that these shoes come in the same cool colors in the D width. Also, love the wide toe box. No problem so far, just ran a 10 miler today in them and they felt fine. I use RRS arch support inserts to control overpronation.

Love these shoes!
These shoes awesome--for the road or the gym...I've had them for a couple of months now & wear my personalized insoles in them, which make the fit even better--but even without my own insoles, the shoes are lightweight, comfortable and provide ample arch support. ...I bought a few pairs actually after I fell in love with them!
Great Shoe for Humanitarian Runners
I love running and feel blessed to be able to do so in a beautiful environment. I can run on these knowing the company (made in USA) paid a fair wage. The price is the same as competitor's, but it sure is great knowing my running isn't exploiting another human being. Thanks New Balance!!

Have never worn New Balance. Usually wear Asics, Nike, or Brooks. Have been disappointed with Nike so ordered these. First time running (4 miles) was great. No discomfort. Felt like I had run in these for a month. Very light weight. Did not order 1/2 size up. Ordered my usual size and they fit perfect and I use orthotics.
Having never worn New Balance, thought I'd try it as my new running shoe. Unfortunately, this wasn't the best stability shoe for me. There was no cushioning or support. It felt as if I was running barefoot. My knees were not happy with me.
Great go to shoe
Great all around shoe. I found that the medial heel part wore down rather quickly bit have already ordered a second pair. I've used for all from recovery to threshold to long runs up to 20 miles. Found better for under 15.
I have been looking for this shoe after my Orthopedic Dr. reccomended it! I use it daily for a work shoe. and the other pair for Walking!
Lightweight and very comfortable with my Custom Orthotics!
Very lightweight shoe
Very lightweight running shoe. I no longer have constant foot inflammation since I started wearing this shoe. They have also lasted a long time, but I always alternate my shoes.
I bought another pair!
Great shoe! I have not bought New Balance in years and decided to try them. They are lightweight and fit well. I run about 30 miles a week. I liked them so much, I bought another pair.

Great Shoe--great substitute for 763
I used ot only by the NB 763 and I've replaced it with this shoe, which in my opinion is better. It's lighter, more comfortable and a joy to run in. LOVE THIS SHOE.
Well worth the money.
I brought these sneakers for a ladyfriend. She loved them. Very liteweight. Good looking sneaker. She was very happy with them. Worth the money. Plus made in the USA.
Loved these shoes at first. They are good shoes, however, after two 5 mile runs any responsiveness in the outsole was gone-felt the hardness of the road and my joints did not like it. Bummer
Best running shoe for me so far!
Purchased these after buying the same somewhere else. I was enjoying the blister-free running and knew I would need an alternate pair or I'd soon need replacements!
Salt Lake City
Another great NB shoe!
High arches and knee issues dictate I always wear "good" shoes for both work and play. These shoes fit the bill. Fun colors for casual wear and good support for daily runs.
Love the shoe. Great flexibility and lightweight. Not the best arch support but used inserts and work great.
I wanted a shoe that was god for running as we'll as for cross training. This shoe fits the bill perfectly.
Royal Oak, MI
Lightweight for sure
Love the look and weight. Just a bit narrow on the bunion side. Hope to stretch it out.
