So Far, So Good...

Comments about Womens New Balance Fresh Foam Boracay Running Shoe:

I buy my running shoes for fast walking. These shoes are like walking on clouds - so comfortable. I only wonder how long they will remain that way since this is my first pair of this type. So far I am very pleased with the purchase.

Comments about Womens New Balance Fresh Foam Boracay Running Shoe:

After trying 8 different pairs of running shoes, I have finally found the perfect pair. I've been loyal to Asics (Nimbus and Kayano) for years, but the newer models were so heavy I felt like I was running with concrete in my shoes. I started looking at other shoes: Saucony Triumph, Hoka, Brooks, other Asics models, and New Balance. I knew I wanted/needed cushion but still wanted a supportive shoe. The Saucony Triumph and the Hoka models offered TOO much cushion and caused blisters from the vertical movement of my foot within the extra cushioned shoe. The more cushioned Brooks were very heavy as were the Asics models. I'd never tried New Balance as I always felt they ran really narrow. I gave the Boracay a try in a wide (and even ordered a half size up from my "normal" half size up...so full size up from my everyday shoe size). I loved them from the first run! Lightweight and cushioned but not marshmallowy. I did put my superfeet in them for a little extra stability. After long runs my hips don't ache, my knees feel great, and for the first time in years I have no blisters! My only complaint is that by mile 225, the first layer on the soles was wearing away toward the top under my toes (weird spot as I'm a midfoot striker, but it's not a big deal to me as I replace my shoes about every 300 miles or so. I'll definitely be ordering a second pair.

Finally...a reason to come back to NB

Comments about Womens New Balance Fresh Foam Boracay Running Shoe:

I'm not a fast runner -- just getting back into training after 6 months off. But these shoes make me feel faster. I haven't run in NB shoes in about 6 years, and I didn't believe the hype about the Fresh Foam series of shoes until I tried them on. I've been battling shin splints for months now (and I have pretty flat feet), and I've tried every neutral shoe that comes in a wide size, and these make the shin splints bearable. (One of my feet overpronates, while the other one supinates, too). I like the Nimbus 17 for walking, but when I run in them, I feel like I'm working against the shoe to go anywhere (too cushioned). The Glycerin 12 wasn't cushioned enough. (Thanks to RRS for the AMAZING service!) This strikes a nice balance with just enough cushion yet responsive. They're not the prettiest shoe to look at, but if you're having the same issues as me, this is worth a try. Certainly roomy enough for a custom insert (which I do use), and if the heel slips, using heel lock lacing is easy. I did have to size up from my normal running shoe (I wore a 7D in Saucony Ride 6 -- boy, do I miss that shoe) to a 7.5D for this one).
