I have had two pair of these and loved them. I'm a neutral runner at 5'09" and 170 lbs. I avg 20 miles per week and have only one small complaint. I seem to develop the "black toes" during hill work. I trained for Reach the Beach in these and ran in postion 8 and had no probelms besides the black toe. In my opinon toe nails grow back therefore I think they are a great shoe!!!! I am trying the Omni 5's based on a shoe experts adivce for the black toe issue but haven't started the hills yet. The Omni 5 is also a very compatible shoe which I enjoy so far (125miles). Remember in the words of Herb Brooks -- "The legs feed the wolf"

This is a terrible motion control shoe!!! The laces are cool, but the sho actually does nothing for the arches. The company rates it as a stability shoe, but even in that category, it is not even close to the Asics Gel Kayano XI or XII. The NB 815 is actually a much better motion control shoe and is cheaper! DOnt believe the editor's rating on this shoe- It is junk! I ended up injuring my ITband on short gentle runs with these shoes- There is no way I am using it again.

What happend to the 765's? I had to order the 766 and I am a little miffed. It is a totally different shoe for me. I like the cushion and the room in the toe is OK. I rub more on the top of my toes then I did with the 765s. The arch in this shoe seems a bit lower and the size seems to run a bit larger. I used the 765s for 2 years and they were perfect. I have a feeling I am going to be hurting before too many miles.

I rated this shoe back in October and I can't believe what I wrote. I did injure myself. My left knee started hurting in December and I am still unable to run. I had to stop running for two months now and I missed my first half marathon. Again these shoes are in no way a substitute for the 765. Maybe it was already happening but I will hopefully start running in my first pair of Asics soon. So long New Balance.

I had plantar fascitis and was given these to wear at my running store. The plantar fascitis has gone away and I am back on track for marathon traaining. I have a neutral gait, but I have a pretty heavy heel strike, so the support works for me. I have now run about 100 miles in them and love them.

I'm a heavier (200+ lbs) clydesdale with history of Morton's N syndrome. Bought the NB 766 looking for a roomy toe box but with a cushion ride. Seem to got just what I was looking for. So far all is well and Morton's N is not an issue. Bought my normal street shoe size but with 2E width.

I miss the 765. From the moment I started to run in them the 766 seemed to overweight the medial forefoot. Kind of rolling me towards the big toe. I cancelled my marathon due to tendonitis in my foot. coul be a coincidence.

This shoe felt great from the start. It feels like a motion control shoe. My only problem with the shoe is I broke the shoe lace in a race and you can't buy new ones. The laces really are really important to the shoes design.

Excellent shoe for me. Comfortable out of the box. I have switched from the 815, and find this as supportive as the motion control shoes I wear. This actually has a bigger toe box than the 815, which is important to me.

I love this shoe from the moment I put it on. Took very low mileage to break in and has maintained support and cushioning. I run 20-30 miles a week. Ran in 764 and 765 and this shoe is by far the better of the three.

I loved the 765, and my question is, what did New Balance do to the 766. My legs literally hurt after running with the 766, so much so that i have no choice but to try another shoe.

I bought these after running in the 765, which I thought was awesome. These shoes aren't horrible, but they are now more like a motion controll shoe, which is too supportive for me.

Despite the reviews I read - I actually really like this shoe. I tried 1221's and these feel great. Also really helped relieve bad heel pain and run a 3:30 in Chicago last year!
