I'm a 5'10", 135 pound runner who puts in 30-50 mpw...mostly on roads. After a major forefoot injury (ever run over a large rock in racing flats, at full speed?) I made some changes to my shoes. The Zoom Elites accommodate my new orthotics well, and I actually logged a near personal best 10 miler today in them after setting them aside for a month or so as I ran in other shoes. Awesome cushioning throughout, but good road feel. I feel as though the shoes are true to size, and facilitate good turnover speed and form. Transition from heel/midfoot/toe feels smooth. As with an old pair of Zoom Elite 3s...I am really liking this shoe. I'd give it 5 stars, but experienced an issue with the tongue, which does not provide adequate padding near the front of the shoe...allowing shoelaces and shoe material to focus a pressure point on the top of my big toe joint. Somewhat mitigated by loosening laces a bit.

Favorite Running Shoe
At 175 pounds & 5'10", I run every day at least 5k. My best half marathon was run in 2009, when I was 51, wearing the previous version of this "NIKE Elite" shoe. Last month, I purchased two pair of the "Elite 5" and believe it to be the best investment in decades. Usually a supinator, I have been working on a more balanced landing & push off; these shoes provide a perfectly balanced platform that allows me to run better. I have been running for 25 years and these are the best shoes I have ever found for the runner who strives for the perfect stride.
Great lightweight trainer
Putting these shoes on was like a reunion with an old friend: I ran marathons in Nike Elites in the late 1970s (when it was a waffle sole!), and the fit is very similar: wide toe box, narrow heel with a minimal heel counter, extremely lightweight. I have been leaning towards Asics and Mizuno trainers recently because Nike trainers had put on some weight (12 oz plus)in the past few years. Glad to see them return to a lighter shoe that has plenty of cushion.
Light, good cushion, comfortable
I have high arches, and run about 30 miles per week. I run a couple half marathons a year. I have been running in ASICS Gel Nimbus for the past several years, but have been experiencing plantar fasciitis lately. Thought I'd try a different shoe. Have run about 60 miles so far in the Nike Zoom Elite+, with RR Bounce insoles.
So far, they feel good. Lightweight, comfortable, and no pain.

The Zoom Elite 5 is a great shoe, I'm on my 3rd pair and hope they never go extinct. They seem to only last ~400 miles as compared to other Nike's where I get closer to 500 out of them before the soles become worn but overall great trainer for marathon training and provides nice cushioning with a fast feel.
Training for a 1/2 marathon. I like the Zoom Elite 4s but went with the Lunar models for the last few years (glide, fly, eclipse, elite). Have done 3 runs in the Zoom Elite 5 and find them to be very cushioned (especially the mid to forefoot) yet responsive. Great shoe so far.
Switched from Vomero
I have been in Vomero for years and wanted something lighter. I am a midfoot striker so Pegasus with the rear zoom air was not a good option, however the Zoom Elite has the forefoot zoom air and is extremely comfortable. It feels like the Vomero but much lighter!

I love this shoe. I've been running in the Vomero and other nuetral+ shoes for the last several years. The Zoom Elite has helped me transition to more of a midfoot strike. It's light weight but still provides good cushioning.
These are amazing. I just bought my second pair. I trained for my first full marathon last year in these and, as I've told others, they feel like you're running on pillows. The support and cushioning are amazing and helped me through those long runs.
Performance to be determined
This Shoe has all the qualities that Road Runner
said it had. So far a great Running Shoe for
a 69 year young guy. Give me a couple months to
give you a performance update.
Made a good purchase Thanks RR.
Great lightweight with support
This is my second pair. At first there was a little outstep discomfort due to the high arches, but that was very temporary. The shoe is a great lightweight shoe with ample support and cushioning.
I have only used the Nike Zoom Elite for a few weeks and like it very much. However,I have a history of wearing out running shoes quickly, so I'll be interested in seeing the long term durability.
