The Pegasus 29 feels NOTHING like the previous versions of this shoe! I have been wearing the Nike Air Pegasus for as long as I can remember, running from 25-40 miles per week, and shoe after shoe, year after year, the quality and feel has remained consistent. From the moment I put the newly purchased #29 on my feet, they felt lighter and within a few steps of my first run I could feel how flimsy they were, with no side support. In addition the bottom feels very flat, with no arch support and no cushioning. I could feel my feet slapping the ground and over five miles it was very uncomfortable. I don't know if Nike was "improving" something that didn't need improving, or if this is a result of cost cutting on materials and workmanship, but they have taken a proven product and turned it into something shoddy. Sadly, I will now have to embark on a quest for another shoe and my first choice will probably be New Balance, as I understand it they still manufacture in the USA.
My thoughts on the Pegasus+ 29
I am an experienced all-season runner. And, I take this opportunity to remark the following- I noticed that good running shoes are extremely difficult to find these days. In the last 8 years quality of a good running shoe for women has really declined. I find the Pegasus+ 29 model by NIke the only shoe that still fits my needs. Still, Nike needs to step up the volume, when speaking of women running shoes! Prices have risen, and quality has declined! I am a Nike fan- but, often noted- not enough time is spend on product testing! But, this last statement doesn't just apply for Nike- it goes for all other companies in the sportswear industry as well.
Now this is more like it. After several attempts at purchasing and trying other Nike brand running sneakers, finally after all these years of running (20+), I ordered a pair of the Pegasus. I now know why they have been so popular through the years. They feel like the old Nike brand of sneaker I have been accustomed to. Super cushioned and comfortable. I did order one size up from my normal size as I lean towards wearing a thicker sock. Lots of room and they looked good too. I'm very pleased with these sneakers and look forward to wearing them time and time again. Thanks RRS for your great service. Despite having issues with past Nike sneakers, you guys come through every single time!!!!
Great shoe - changed from +26
I am an avid walker, and bought my first Air Pegasus upon a running store recommendation. I need good arch support, am a neutral runner/walker, and need them to feel like slippers due to foot sensitivities. This feels very soft, and I first bought the +26. Now it's three (+29) iterations away, and the shoe feels the same, but the toe box is smaller and tighter. I had to wear them for three days before my toes did not hit the front of the shoe, and I ordered the exact same size as before. Almost sent them back, but they seemed to "stretch"? if that's possible. Anyway, I kept them and all is fine now, but it took a while.
I walk and exercise to keep my arthritic body as free from pain and stiffness as possible, and I am indoors on a treadmill and mats or walk outside on pavement. This shoe is comfortable and provides good support and traction for my low-level workouts.
Several years ago I was fitted for the Air Pegasus 26 at Road Runner, and have used this model since then with good results. I used to shop at discount shoe stores, but have found that paying the extra $20-$30 for the right shoe is cost-effective in terms of time and comfort. I now uses two pairs of Pegasus 29's to use one pair every other day, which prolongs the useable life of the shoe.

Back on Track
I got these to restart my Couch to 5K training. My previous attempts had been hampered by shin splints, which I had assumed were due to poor fitting shoes. I think I was right, because after getting properly measured, I ended up purchasing these and haven't experienced any more shin splits. I did have to go up half a size. The shoe feels very light but is very supportive of my (high arch) foot. My only dislikes are the laces (you need to pull each section individually to tighten, instead of pulling both lace ends) and the colour selection. But overall, I am very pleased with the shoe.

Was a fan
I was a pegasus fan on and off for over 20 years because I'm an efficient runner that requires nothing in the form of pronation/supination control. I say on and off because some years Nike would mfg a great shoe and other years they were garbage. Im male and wear women's running shoes because they are narrower for better fit. The mens Pegasus is built for fat feet. I'm 5'7" 135 pounds running 50+- miles weekly. Forefoot striker. The last pair of pegasus I purchased were disgusting. I could not return them. I ran about 10 miles in them and delivered them to the goodwill. I don't know who Nike has designing this shoe now, but the person is an idiot and surely not a runner. I'm now running with the Asics Landreth; a very nice running shoe with great forefoot support (gel). I race in Asics Gel DS Racer. Goodbye Nike!
After a million try and returns (sorry RRS) I have found my long distance shoe. A friend of mine got me a pair based on the recommendation of 3 long time running friends! Tried for 2 weeks and just ran my 1st 1/2 in them no problem!
They are very cushiony however I believe under 9oz! Love all the colors! Great great long distance shoe. Ran with them right out the box. iT band pain decreased immediately. Wish I had gone with these sooner!
Previously ran in brooks launch.
Great for running
I run about 5 miles 3-4 times a week. I was using the nike flex's and loved them but wore them out after just 70 miles. I started looking for a shoe that had rubber soles but weren't too heavy. These were perfect. the weight didn't feel much different if at all to my flex's which have the foam sole. I've also had 2 knee surgeries and need to have a shoe with decent support. These were just what I needed. They're great for road running and running on the boardwalk.
I bought these shoes as a lighter running shoe alternative to my Asics Cumulus. So far I'm enjoying them! I had to replace the insole with the custom ones I purchased from RR earlier this year because the originals did not provide enough support. I also noticed immediately the difference in cushion provided but I expected that. Overall I like them for my shorter runs (5 miles or so) but I think I need more support and cushion for my longer runs.
Not the Pegasus you remember
Got these 'cause I loved me some Pegasus for marathons, but I am disappointed and perhaps risking injury. They've wiped out some of the forefoot cushioning, and are tipping you forward now, so be prepared for some metatarsal complaining. The great Pegasus spring is gone and is replaced by a Brooks-like hard mush. I do like the faster kick, but I'm really not happy overall. These feel cheap and flimsy, and will stretch out quickly.
Comfy and looks great.
I love these shoes so much that I bought a second pair. I'm a beginning runner, and I did my 2nd full marathon in these shoes. I feel fast in these. They were comfortable and felt good from the moment I put them on. I'm a slight over-pronator, and these shoes cause me no problems. I'm a size 7 or 7.5, but I usually size up just in case, and these were perfect in 7.5. My boyfriend who's run 5 marathons likes these shoes a lot too (in men's sizes, of course).

Very happy with my purchase!
I had another pair of Nike's that were Performance Neutral. The sole was simply to thin and I was feeling knee pain during and after my runs. I have a high arch and they were also making me over-supinate. I swtiched to the Nike Air Pegasus shoes and no more knee pain and I have more support on the outside of my foot. Initially they felt a little bulkier but my runs have actually become faster. I love the color too. I am very happy with my purchase.
Great for injuries
I broke my feet running in the past, and I was taking forever to get back into it. I had pain in the feet, tendonitis, back pain, etc. I knew it could be shoe related, but this shoe is a miracle worker. I went from forcing a run 2x/week and ending in pain, to running every other day for several miles and no pain after. These shoes saved my run! I also get compliments on the electric blue/red shoe when i run errands in them after the gym. Love them!
This is IT!!!
I have had purchased a Nike Pegasus and fell in love with the shoes. But, this time, the Nike Pegasus shoes are lighter than the previous ones. I use Nike Pegasus to train and run in races. I bought a new pair and ran in Baltimore 10 miler this year with this pair, it surely worked. No injury and smooth sailing through the hills and heat of Baltimore.
Works for my ballet-battered feet
I've tried many shoes and the old standby Air Pegasus is the only one that works for me. Injuries have abated since I've worn them (and have worked on my core more). And m feet are tricky--battered and bunioned from years of ballet, plus they are wide-wish for my size.
I only wish Nike would stop changing the model every 5 minutes. The 29 was a change for the good but it's not always the case.
The most comfy shoe!
I love them! They have tons of cushion, including the heel. I've used them on track, pavement/asphalt and treadmill, and they work great. I had to go a full size bigger (I'm usually 8 and had to buy 9's). I've only had them for 3 weeks so I can't really say anything about durability yet, but one thing is great is that they are super comfortable from day one. Great running shoe!

Changed since the 26 version.....
I am an avid walker, sometimes a little running, walking about 4 miles a day. Had the Pegasus 26 and then had to order these, and was disappointed in the smaller toe box. I got an ingrown toenail from the pressure, and now I am trying to exchange them for a men's which I am told has a larger toe box. Otherwise a nicely padded shoe!
I returned these shoes. When I put my foot in them the first time I discovered the insole was doubled up and could not be unfolded and fit in the shoe. I wear a 7.5-8 W so I ordered an 8.5 wide. All I felt was my big toe at the end and very pinched toes. I usually buy New Balance 8.5 W and they are always roomy and comfortable. I doubt I will purchase Nike again.
Excellent Running Shoe
I am 54 and run a lot of 5k and 10k races. I have used orthotics for years but I tried running without them with this shoe and have never been so comfortable. I typically do not wear Nike due to the large toe box and the brand has just not been a good fit for me in the past, but this is my Nike breakthrough shoe!
This shoe is a great, trustworthy running shoe. I've been running in Pegasus for 14 years. It's a great shoe. It's comfortable and durable. Like any shoe, it wears out.... but it certainly is a quality buy! Customer service is excellent with RRS. I'm a lightweight, 8-10 mi/week runner.
Don't like this updated version
I have been wearing Pegasus for 30 years and this updated version made my feet hurt. I use them outdoors for running but they might be a better option for gym use. Not true to size, you have to buy a size bigger and still my feet continue to hurt, all day long after wearing these shoes for 3 months.
Unhappy with this shoe
Good shoe for heavier runner
My feet are too wide for a D width (I slip around in them) but I need a roomy toe box which this shoe provides. It is neither lightweight nor heavy. I would have liked more ball of foot cushioning. I am a recreational runner and am on the heavy side. This shoe holds up well for me.

Good long distance shoe
This is an excellent shoe for training purposes. It offers enough support for long runs. I did need to change the insoles as I found it a bit too soft for my liking, but once I got used the heavier feel, (I tend to run in lighter shoes), I found it to be an excellent every day trainer.
Not a bad shoe ...
I'm a runner by trade but also active military and I use my running shoes for regular road running for preparation for PT test. I've done 6 marathons but am thinking of doing another marathon. I'm hoping this shoe will work for long distance running.

Need better colors for women
Since moving to Florida, being outdoors is an everyday occurance. Pegasus gives the best support for my walking and endurance needs. The only down side is womens choice of color. When is Nike going to give women better colors to choose from. The men have a better color selection.
like these shoes
I have been using these since the end of August. Ran a half marathon in them yesterday. They have held up well during training runs, and my feet/legs have not been painful while wearing these. I have used the Pegasus 26, 27, and 28. The 29's seem to be the most durable so far. The 28's, while comfortable, I wore the black off the heel in just over a month, the 29's have not worn down that fast.
Great High-Arch Shoe
Before I got this shoe, I was using a Nike stability shoe. After getting fitted, and told I have high arches, this shoe was recommended. I've run several long distance runs in these shoes and have not had any problems, from day one. These are great shoes!

less cushioning means pain
I run between 5 and 10 miles at a time. The shoe was OK for the five mile run but the lack of cushioning resulted in pain in the ball of the foot and under the toes. This is the first pair of Pegasus shoes that I have disliked.
Bought for short runs (3 to 5 miles) and so far they're great. Ordered a half size up like others suggested, but I probably didn't need to as they are a bit roomy, but comfortable. These shoes are a great value! I
