Best update to date!

5

Love the new update for the Lunarglide series. Finally, the "Lunar Trainer" feel has returned. Nike has really came through with the Lunarglide 4. My first week consists of treadmill, hills and pavement running. The shoes held up like a champ. They are light enough for speed work, tempo runs, road races and triathlons. The one big test for the shoes is the "long run", which I plan for this Saturday. When Nike came out with the Lunar Trainer I thought it was the greatest shoe ever, to only stay around for one year. That was bad for me. Now with the edition of the Lunarglide 4 the feeling is back (for now). I'll know if the shoe is for real after this Saturday's long run of 12 miles. I think the shoes will do fine. Be fit everyone.

Top 5 Neutral Running shoe

5

This is clearly one of the top 5 neutral trainer running shoes out today. As I look through both closets and shoe racks in my hallway, I have over 80 pairs of running shoes, about 30 still new and unused, so I have some shoes to compare this too. I ran track in College and I continue to buy and try different shoes still. This Nike shoe is such a great shoe from the sole up. Super comfortable, very light, I still feel I midfoot strike in these without any effort and the shoe just feels so natural the minute you put it on. Nike really has something special with the lunarlon foam, it's cushioning is 2nd to none. This shoe provides good support but my foot doesn't feel caged in like a pronation control shoe, it still feels relatively flexible. I put over 300 miles on the first pair with average ware, but I'm a midfoot foot strke so I feel these held up very well. I just odered my 2nd pair. I'm also a fan of the Brooks pureflow, Saucony powergrid kinvara 4 and cortana, Puma mobium elite and Skechers go run 2 and go run ride 2 which I've ran in all. I've yet to try the Reebok one series, Kswiss qwicky blade light or the Pearl Izumi road m3 or road n2 and still waiting on Adidas to come out with something besides the boost, too big of a heel drop, I still love the cushioned response 16. But for long tough runs,(6-12 miles pushing the pace) these shoes are just so incredibly great. I'm not sure Nike can do any better than this particular version the Lunarglide+4, it truly is a perfect neutral trainer

Great Shoe - Grey/Neon Green Nonexistent

5

Nike Lunarglide 4 is an improvement over all previous versions. The shoe is snug, but it offers a lot of cushioning while still being extremely lightweight. If ordering the advertised version of Grey/Neon Lime, please know this shoe color doesn't exist on RRS. Instead, you'll receive the shoe color of Stealth/Reflective Silver-Electric Green. It's a great looking shoe, but it's neon green instead of neon yellow.

Great road shoe for pronators

5

I went through about 20 different pairs of shoes before a friend recommended these to me. They were like 80 bucks after VIP discount so I bought a pair last summer and have bought 3 more pairs since. I used to get chronic posterior tibialis but these babies fixed that right quick as I am a pretty good pronator. I run about 90 miles a week in these with no issues and they are great on smooth or slightly bumpy trail. If I go heavy trail I have to wear my trail shoes but these are awesome on just about every surface. I also race in them and they are fantastic. FWIW, I am wearing these at Umstead 100 in 3 weeks.

Had to send 'em back!

1

I had about 420 miles on my Lunarglide 3's, so it was time for a new pair of shoes. I loved my 3's, but when I saw the 4's were on sale and cheaper than the (endangered) 3's, I figured why not go with the newer model? The shoes felt fine on the first few runs. Then on my long run, I had a lot of metatarsal pain in one foot. Took a week off, no improvement. So I took some more time off. Still no improvement. Finally I realized that the discomfort was worse when I wore the new shoes. Ran a couple of times since in my old, beat-up 3's, and my foot is fine. Needless to say, I returned these and went with the older model. It's pretty bad when a brand new pair of shoes doesn't provide the same cushioning as a pair that has ben through the war!

Great medium-distance running shoe

4

Run 6-8 miles on average, 5-days a week. I like the current trend of lightweight, cushioned shoes. As a former Nike Free Run (multiple pairs) buyer, I was disappointed in the latest slant Nike Free Run+ 3 took so I looked elsewhere. I tried the Lunarglide+ 4 and was not disappointed. Although slightly heavier than Free Run's they were more durable, more comfortable, and provided better cushioning over the longer runs and multiple miles on put on them. Highly recommend this shoe to avid medium-distance runner. I'm 5'9" / 172 lbs with a medium frame. I'm typically a 2E width which means buying Nike can be very difficult but these shoes accommodated my 10.5, 2E flippers just fine.

Great Shoe vs. Pegasus

4

I work on the street for a delivery service. Six days a week, walking at least 4 miles per day. I was extremely disappointed to see Nike discontinue the Max Moto, Bowerman Series. Since then, I've owned a Pegasus, Vomero, and always had a problem. To much pain kept me looking for better support and cushioning. Its got better medial support than the Pegasus, and better arch support than the Vomero. I need a more subdued color scheme, I bought grey and chili red; but Ill get to that in time. Great Shoe, been with it a month, and no visible signs of wear. THX

Great Shoe

5

The Nike LunarGlide line is the best shoes I have ever owned and the +4 is no exception. I run high school cross country and track and log around 75-80 miles a week and these shoes feel great through every mile and that includes distance runs and workouts. I very much overpronate which has caused injuries in the past but with these shoes I have had no problem whatsoever. Even with the amount I run I only have to replace them twice a year so they are very durable. All around a great shoe!

Better for running than walking

4

I simply tried on this LunarGlide+4 to compare with my Nike Vomero+7. One foot with the LunarGlide, the other foot with the Vomero, walking indoors on a hard floor. Immediately could tell the cushioning in the Vomero is much softer for regular walking, especially in the heel. Was hoping the LunarGlide would be better for walking. But I would guess the LunarGlide may be best for conventional heel-strike running (I use a forefoot shoe for running on pavement and also run barefoot on the beach).

Love this shoe... with one complaint

4

I'm 6'1", 188 lbs, and I road run 8-9 mi 3-4x per week and do half maras about every other month. Although I generally despise Nike, I love this shoe; buying my second pair. My only complaint is that I occasionally blister on the outside fatty area below the big toe on runs 10+ mi (historically blistering has not been an issue for me). I've been tightening the laces in front and that seems to help. Otherwise, I will keep ordering this shoe until Nike screws it up.

Way better than all of the prior Lunars

5

I wear these to do interval sprints and jog on the treadmill. Very supportive to my feet, I have wide feet and these shoes fit really well. I'm a US9.5 and went with a US10. I'm not a huge fan of the insole the shoes come with, they are way too thin. The updated dynamic support system is probably one of the best. I highly recommend, they are so comfortable I went to the gym twice today, just to run in them a second time!

Great shoe

4

I bought these as a cushioned, mildly supportive shoe to rotate on easy run days. I love the mid foot wrap that the fly wire provides, and the seamless inner bootie and overlay free upper. Only downsides so far is the outsole has worn extremely fast in the center of the forefoot. They are also a little warmer than a few other shoe options that I currently have. But they are honestly comfortable enough that I want to wear them more often than planned.

Seems to be a good shoe for distance!

3

I have run in Nike shoes (trainers, light weight & racing flats) for over 30 years and always wore a size 11 1/2. These are a little snug, but still comfortable. I have Morton's toe and have not had a problem so far, but the snug feeling is there. I have run about 6 miles a day for the first week without any problem, but feel that a size 12 for this shoe might have been better. Otherwise, seems like a comfortable, light weight, stable shoe.

Comfortable and supportive

5

got it because of the excellent reviews. took it out for two 5k runs so far and it is better than what I had before. I removed the insole and installed my own 'customized-for-high-arch' insole, and installed the Nike+ foot pod for iPhone on the left shoe. I also used it on a bike ride and noticed discomfort on my toes, but of course this shoe is not meant for cycling so this is not an negative comment : )

Ok running shoe

3

I have been running in the Structure Triax for the last 5 or so years. Loved how it fit on my narrow feet. Thought I would give the Lunar Glide a try. The shoe has a lot of cushion but the toe box is huge allowing my foot to move around too much inside the shoe. I interchange this shoe with a couple other pairs (Triax and Asics 2000) through out the week. I would have a hard time using this as an every day trainer.

MY SHOE!!

5

After a year of running and trying every shoe known to man I have finally found my shoe!!! 9 miles right out of the box!! Best way to describe this shoe is supportive pillows. Feet never felt weary for the entire run! I was elated at the end of my run and cant wait until I run in them again. You should at least give this shoe a try. Cannot recommend it enough!

I'm glad I made this purchase!

5

As far as performance of the shoe goes they're amazing. Without a doubt the most breathable shoe I've ever owned and the lightest. They're cushioned perfectly and look great. I do have a slight issue with the color, I got the red/gray shoes and they're extremely bright. The red is still red it's not a neon or pink, just vibrant. If you can deal with the bright color then have at it!

Great forefoot, heel slips

4

The shoe is more stable than I thought it would be because it is so light weight. The forefoot cushioning is exceptional. I really like this shoe and I like the wide toe box which is not expected from Nike. The only issue I have with the shoe is some heel slippage. Overall, I like this shoe as an everyday trainer and the lightweight feels fast.

Half-size up and keep it to the road

4

As suggested go for a .5 size up. I wore a 10 in the LunarGlide 2 and every other Nike runner I own. Wound up with 10.5 in these. Incredibly lightweight. I do, however, like to mix up my daily runs with some trail/gravel. This is a problem. These are definitely designed strictly for the road based on the traction/sole pattern/material in my opinion. (I do 20 miles a week)

Outsole wears too fast

2

I've used Lunar Glides from the first model, and the outsoles tend to wear quickly, but the Lunar Glide 4 is far worse than the first three models. I have run 140 miles on a pair and the heel is worn to the midsole already. Very disappointing, and I will not buy Nike shoes again. Shoes are a bit stiffer than past models as well. Otherwise, they are fine, but lack of durability is a deal-breaker for me.

I found my fountain of youth.

5

An old blues song went like this : "Gotta use what Mother Nature gave you before Father Time takes it away." At 65,have been searching for shoes to help with the aging process. I love to run but the knees were barking, hamstrings tightening, ankles hurting and I was running with Pain as my full time co-pilot. Not fun. These shoes are wonderful. I get to give ole Father Time a little push back.

First time for LunarGlides

4

I had been running in Air Pegasus for the past 4 years. Decided to go another route due to all of the negative comments about the redesign. So far these are comfortable and light weight. I can see others concern that they may wear out quickly though. Im 6' 210 lbs and havent had any pains so I would say they are well cushioned too. Run about 10 miles a week. thanks

5

i have run in these shoes about 5 times so far and i can say as far as the feel and the fit they are amazing and they look great too ... i was a bit sad that after the second day of running in them i had to run in the rain through the mud but i took them in the shower washed them off and stuffed them full of paper towels they looked good as new

Wears Out Much Too Fast

1

Worst wearing shoe I have ever had. Heals were totally worn out after 300 miles. Cushioning is excellent and outlasted the heel soles. They cut back on rubber to reduced weight and increase soft cushion feel, but they reduced it too much. Whoever named this a best update couldn't have worn it for more than a few weeks.

Love These

5

I train 7-10 hours of cardio a week; treadmill, elliptical, and rowing. I find these to be excellent for all cardio related activities I've used them for. I have no complaints whatsoever and have also found these to be great for casual use; the Volt color does elicit comments from strangers.

Feels like I'm running on the moon

5

The Lunarglide+ 4 was the shoe I've been looking for longer road running, as I was not getting adequate support with my Frees. Now even on my longer 8-12mi runs, my feet feel like they could keep going. The lunarlon supports each stride and the width holds my foot just right.

Light but stable

4

Very good shoe. I was concerned when I first got it because it was so light. I am a big guy who needs firm support. This shoe provides just the right amount for me. Fits great too. Heel cup could be firmer as it tends to curl under when you slip the shoe on.

Great shoe!

5

Running between 8-12 miles a week, this shoe provides great comfort. It has a nice cushion to absorb the shock. They are light weight and breathe well in all types of weather. Additionally, they are great shoes to wear out and about!

Ouch

1

Had issue with they way this shoe caused my foot to strike. Caused left foot to roll inward and caused stress on inside of knee. Felt like I was constantly on the inside of the sole during gait. I run 1200+ miles a year and never had problems with a shoe like this.

Awesome Shoes

5

I would recommend these shoes for those thinking about switching from the asics 2060 or nike triax. they have a very confortable top section and great cushion for a stability shoe. I wish I ran my marathon in these rather than the triax.
