I bought these shoes specifically to start walking and running more. I don't do a whole lot to begin with, but I had a goal of maybe doing a couple of miles a day, leading up to about 10-15 miles a week. I wanted shoes that would go on all pavements: road, sand, dirt, everything. We're right by the beach, so a good beach shoe is a must. First, I want to say that we bought the custom insoles that Road Runner Sports are amazing at providing and fitting you for. So that changes my view on the shoe somewhat. The good: Lightweight, great color (I got pink!), fits my foot like a glove, stays on no matter what. The bad: NOTHING! Seriously, nothing is wrong. These are the best pair of shoes I have ever had. Not only do they fit like a glove (thanks to my custom insole!), but they are cute, look great with leggings, shorts, jeans, everything really. I even wore them with a dress and got compliments! Normally, my feet are sore after a long day of walking. I absolutely must get a foot massage several times a week in order to even live with myself. Now, my feet don't hurt at all. It has made such a difference in my activity level. I have no problem going further and for longer. I suffer from fibromyalgia, which is a muscle pain issue if you didn't know. I tend to hurt a lot and activity is hard at best. These shoes have improved my drive to move. I'm very driven to move on my own, because I believe that one you stop moving you die, but these shoes have made me even more determined. Take a trip to Road Runner Sports, you won't regret it! Warning: Price is a tad on the high end. If you, like me, are used to buying shoes from from cheap retail stores, be aware that it will be a hard pill to swallow. BUT only until you put the shoes the staff have picked out (JUST FOR YOUR FEET!) and the insoles, then it will all be worth it. I'm a very thrifty person, but these suckers are so worth it. The staff is amazing, the Shoe Dog process is outstanding, and the products are quality. They have made us so happy that we intend to CONTINUE to visit them even after we've MOVED to Hawaii. Yep, that's right, folks! We will pop on over (after visiting family up north of course! We're not quite that insane....though I may be, I would still want to visit Road Runner Sports! Issue me my straightjacket!)each year and outfit ourselves with new insoles and new shoes. Heck, we're buying a whole new set of insoles and shoes right before we move too. Love them. You will not regret it. P.S. Another plus, for you iPhone lovers, is that this has a Nike+ chip which can help track your progress! A great motivator. I'm a Droid girl myself, but these shoes make me so happy that I can just look at them and feel all warm and squiggly inside. Aloha!

Loved it--but one problem

3

I loved the Vomero+6 and have been in Brooks' Glycerin for the last year or so, with no complaints with the Brooks. I pre-ordered the Vomero+8 and wanted to love it at least as much as I did previous models (have run in the 3, 4, and 6 models--3 and 6 were my favorites). The ZV was the first shoe I ever wore for a half marathon in which I never felt any quirks, hotspots, etc., with shoes, feet, knees, hips. (A shoe doesn't get better than that!). The new ZV+8 glove fit is wonderful. I have wide feet (wear women's 8, D width) and high arches, and was concerned that the new snug construction might result in too little room in the midfoot and toe box. No problem; felt GREAT. The cushioning also felt exceptional and improved, expecially under the heel. Basically I very much liked the 8's except for one issue that unfortunately was significant enough for me to send the shoes back: heel slippage, which was never an issue in previous ZV models or the Glycerin (all of which fit snugly in the heel). To correct the slippage I tried relacing the shoes and wearing slightly heavier socks than I usually wear. A quick jaunt on the treadmill in which I could feel the up and down movement in the back of the shoe convinced me (sadly) that these are not going to work for me. A smaller size would be too short. I spoke with customer service and there have been changes in the heel construction for the ZV+8 model but no one else seems to have had a problem with the heel fit. Maybe this is peculiar only with the wide width shoe (or maybe I just have funny feet!). Will try again when the +9s come out. I have loved the Zoom Vomero in the past and except for the heel fit, I found the changes to be good ones. But for the heel problem, chances are the rating would be 5 stars instead of 3.

Perfect fit,super cushioning and light!

5

I love this shoe! I have tried several in the last year and a half and finally this new version(8) is the best. My feet are a tad wide for Normal width shoes but most Wide shoes I tried are too wide and my feet slip around. Most shoes have leather sections going across the toe box area which causes my outer toes to rub on them and get irritated. These shoes do not have that only soft material which gives when I walk and run. This shoe fits my feet snug, more like hugging them, no slipping, rubbing or sliding especially when running.Lots of cushioning feels like walking on marshmallows and I love how light weight they feel on my feet. I am SO happy Nike came out with these(I did not like the previous version(7).. I have 2 pairs(BK and Pink) and just ordered the Blue!!LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!

Great Nike Zoom Vomero+8 Runing Shoe

5

I live in a neighborhood with no sidewalks, many hills, and quite a bit of traffic which means I have to step off the road onto the rocky sides of the streets many times. While I am not a runner, I bought these shoes as they appeared to have the type of cushion I need to walk where I live. I walk 5 miles every day and have not been able to find walking shoes that gave me the cushion and support I need since I have had back and neck surgery. These shoes give me everything I need to make my daily walks enjoyable and productive. Have never worn such lightweight shoes nor had such good cushion/support.

Most Comfortable Shoe Ever!!!

5

I am a RN who spends 12 hours a day on her feet. I began having severe pain from heel spurs around 5 years ago. It was to the point I was limping and avoided being on my feet. I went in to see my Dr. and he told me to go in to Road Runner to see what they recommend for me. They recommended a neautral shoe and I loved the way the Vomero felt it had the most cushion and comfort. I strarted wearing the vomeros around 5 years ago. The pain completely went away and I have been wearing them ever since. I had some difficlty with the older versions wearing out in certain spots but they seem to have worked that out with the newer versions.

Big in the heal but good toebox

4

I usually stick with New Balance because they are one of the few companies that offer wide widths, but I recently discovered a few Nike styles. I chose this one because of the color offerings and because they offered a wide (the other Nike style I have is the Pegasus 30 which I like too.) This shoe is wide enough in the toebox, there is no stitching on the upper to cause irritation, it is breathable and flexible. I feel it is a little big in the heel; I am not sure if you purchased a 1/2 size smaller that it would be a better fit. I just lace them up a little tighter in the middle and they are fine. No blisters or rubbing.

Fell short of expectations

1

I loved my Zoom Vomero 4s and 6s...so ordering the 8s was a no-brainer for me. Turns out, I hated them. After running in them for about a week, I had blisters on my toes that hurt to the point that I could hardly walk. If you loved the cushioning in both the 4 and 6 versions of this shoe, you will be disappointed by the lack of cushioning in the 8s. They are beautiful shoes, but the bottom line is they fall short of my expectations based on previous models. Yesterday, I exchanged these shoes for a another shoe in the neutral + category that felt very similar to my Vomero 6 shoes.

BAD, BAD SHOE

1

I have been with Vomeros through many models. I tried the 7 and was disappointed. It felt like cardboard with no cushion. I took it back and was lucky to find on the used rack a Vomero 5. After those wore out I tried the 8, thinking maybe things improved from the 7. Nope. Actually it is worse. The heel fits loosely and after three days of running my legs felt like I had been running on old shoes without cushion. Now it's not like I am huge and have a lot of weight bearing down. I'm thin and not very tall and so there is no reason for these shoes to have had this effect. They are cheap and a sad end to my Vomero experience.

Will buy this one again!

I run year round, anywhere from 25-50miles a week. I am currently marathon training. I primarily run on the roads but, also workout on trails and the treadmil. These are my go to shoes. I have previously purchased Vomero 6's and really liked them. They helped me through a bout of shin splints. I didn't purchse the 7's because I read a few bad reviews but, didn't like the feel of the shoes I purchased in their place. I decided to return to the Vomero's. Vomero 8's are the best shoes I've come across. I like the cushioning and the wider toe box. I've put about 100miles on them and they feel great.

Worst Shoe Ever

1

I have been wearing Vomero+ shoes for many years. This shoe is a complete redesign. It feels like a pair of Keds with a piece of flat wood applied to the bottom. Absolutely no arch support and no flexibility. I got a blister on the inside of my arch at mile 3 of my run. I felt like my foot was trying to hold onto the shoe at every step. I agree with the reviewer who noted the heel slippage. Since the shoe doesn't flex, your heel is constantly coming up out of the shoe. I've always worn Nike, and am extremely disappointed that I have to switch to another shoe.

Great all around shoe

5

I have been an asics fan for years. I tried the vomero for my crossfit class and have now made a total switch. I now own 3 pairs of vomero's that I both road run and crossfit in - perfect for me. I prefer to run / workout without socks and did need to size down 1/2 size for that purpose. I have a very high arch and find great support with this shoe. I do feel they wear out faster than my asics, with an equal price tag :( so that's a bummer - but still worth it in the long run.

Heel slippage is a problem!

2

The previous vomero models were a great go to shoe over the years especially when i was running long and easy...the vomero 7 was too large and deep so I couldn't wear it and was so excited for the 8's to come out. The toebox and midfoot are a vast improvement over the 7, but what did they do to the heel cup? This shoe wasn't even wearable for me & I'm so sad about it. Even tried sizing down 1 & 2 sizes smaller but my heel still went up and down. Very disappointing:(

Love this shoe!

5

I've been wearing this shoe (Vomero 5, 6, 7 and 8) for years. I was fitted for this shoe by a local running store following a minor break in my foot. I have very high arches and this shoe supports my foot and keeps me injury free. I use over the counter inserts for some additional support, but otherwise, these shoes are great. I will keep buying this version (and updated version) as long as it is around.

Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+ 8 Running Shoe

4

I am a novice runner and have worn the vomero's for the last six years..obviously not the same pair but the same brand. The vomero's continue to improve in comfort and support, careful to keep the weight of the shoe light for the longer distances. After many tries at other brands, the Nike Vomero is the best for my instep and style of running. Although I love the shoe, my toes will fall asleep after five miles or so.

Lack of cushioning and heel too wide

3

I've been running in the Vomero's since version 5, and I really miss that model! Also liked the 6, and 7 was ok. The 8 lacks all of the cushioning of the older models, and the heel is much too wide. I suffered from constant heel slippage, and tightening the laces made my feet numb. I'm returning these and will try to find an older version. Going to wait before purchasing the Vomero+9 until everyone vets it. If it isn't broken, why fix it?!

Love the cushion

5

I spoke to a roadrunner staff member over the phone who recommended these shoes for me. I love the cushioning. I was also glad to see the top has protection from my toes tearing the top mesh. The color is fun (hot pink) but did get slightly dirty looking quickly (although multiple days of rainy weather in the area certainly contributed to that as well). I've had these shoes for a month and they have been good shoes to me so far.

nice cushiony feel

4

I am actually using this shoe for working as I am on my feet most of the day. This is a premium cushioned shoe, however, and certainly is a running shoe. I wear orthotics and they fit in this shoe well, although I am buying 1/2 size bigger than I usually wear in some brands. This is the 3rd model of this shoe I have purchased, and this one does fit a little snugger than the others.

Didn't live up to expectations...

1

I loved my Zoom Vomero 4s, and 6s...wore each pair for 12-18 months without any issues. Typically my runs last between 3-7 miles, both treadmill and trail running. I bought the Zoom Vomero 8s based on the excellent review I read on this site, and my feet are paying the price. This version lacks the cushioning and stability I loved in the 4s and 6s. I will be bringing these back and trading them in for something else.

Narrow even with wider width

3

These are great looking shoes. This is the first time I've ever bought Nike. I typically walk/run 3-4 miles every other day. They felt fine in store but when I took them for their first work out, my foot became numb at about mile two. I took out inserts and tried again and both feet were numb by the time I reached home at 4.4 miles. For me, these just weren't the right shoe.

I would buy this product again

5

Use of product: Running/jogging on roadway/pavement, at least 16-20 miles per week. Things great about it: Lightweight, breathable, comfortable, cushions impact, good arch support with orthodics, perfect width/size (for me), does not affect my plantar faciitis. Things not so great about it: Wish it wasn't endangered.

Good Shoe

4

I have been in love with Nike Vomero and was looking forward to the new light weight invention. I love the color choices and the comfort and performance; but, the heel is too wide. I normally wear size 9, so I tried them in 8.5 and still too loose. Hopefully Nike will correct this mistake. The past models did not have this issue.

Great shoe for runner with problem feet

5

I am a runner with two different "problem" feet. One foot has chronic plantar fasciitis. The other suffers from recurrent forefoot pain and a very stiff big toe. Most times if a shoe works for one foot, it is too loose or stiff or just plain wrong for the other. This update on the Zoom Vomero works for both feet, allowing me to increase my mileage substantially..

I am a veterinary technician with bad feet! I need a supportive shoe with breathability. These are the best shoes I have worn. I wear them with Shoe Dog recommended custom orthotics and my feet thank me for this!!! They are comfortable, with the right support. At the end of the day my feet don't ache at all. Love these shoes!

been running in vomeros forever. Went through 5 pair of version 7. Reviews not too great for version 8 but I went ahead and bought them anyway. Ran in them once and returned them. Seemed longer in the length, toe box bigger/wider, and felt different around the ankle. Tried on version 9 in a store and love it. Will be ordering those. Run about 20 mi a week. Distances range from 5K to marathon. Love the cushion of the vomero. Been running in them since atleast version 4.

Not as great as I had hoped

3

This is the brand I usually wear but the 8's feel too wide in the heel and toe box. I feel "clunky" in the shoe. It also feels as if there isn't as much cushion as the older versions. Sure miss the 5's. Will have to find another shoe sadly. It is probably time anyway as these only deliver about 200 miles before they are shot.

Comfortable from the start!

5

I have bunions and these sneakers remain comfortable all day. I didn't have to break them in. They were very comfortable from the first wearing. They do not rub or put pressure on my feet. I am very very happy with them . I do a lot of long fast walks. This is my second pair-- I hope Nike never changes the fit!

Loved it so far!

5

I have enjoyed running in this shoe, training for a marathon. I had it in a 1/2 size down and needed to go a 1/2 size up with long distance training and some hills that I do. It's comfortable, took me a few runs to adapt, had to tie the laces lose while I adjusted but did a 13 miler yesterday and doing well.

I train in the Vomero, race in the Vomero, work in the Vomero, : )) I only wish they wouldnt change the shoe, I do not care for the Vomero 9, or Vomero 10, the design on top of my foot rubs, so, all to say, I wish they would give me more colors in my Vomero 8, I am on my 4th pair of gray and pink : )))

I've worn the line of vomero's since they came out. Very disappointed in the vomero's 7's. but the 8's are the bomb!! They created an excellent vomero's for my endurance runs. I struggle with plantar fascia these shoes are perfect. I have recommended them to many running friends.
