First, I'm 6'0, 185lbs and run on local trails and a variety of terrain in the Boulder/Ft Collins area. Weekly mileage is 30-45 miles. My experience with Nike trail shoes has not been good until now.
I've had these shoes for about 3 months and have approximately 100 miles on them. They have taken me thru mud, rocks, normal single track, casual dirt bike trails, and now a trail marathon.
They are a very comfortable ride and weight, have nice cushioning on sharp rocks and will eat up miles of trail with no problem
The shoes show no sign of breaking down, are comfortable, and fit as well today as they did in the store.
These shoes were definitely a pleasant surprise.
Nike got this right for the trails
This is a real winner from Nike. I'm glad they made a really solid trail shoe. :)
Wider toe box then all other Nike's. The outsole is very durable and does amazing on the various trails. Actually have some good cushion for long runs too. I've gotten around 300 miles on them and I'm surprised at how well they are holding up.
The only complaint I have is the laces. They seem to stretch during runs and on long runs I had to re-tie.
Going to be buying a few more pairs for sure.
When Nike makes a good shoe, it is a very good shoe. I wish it happened more often as their last fits my foot very well. I had seen good reviews from well respected trail runners that these shoes performed well. I bought this pair reduced due to the new model being out, and I can say I was extremely impressed. When these wear out I will definitely by the another pair in this model, hoping it has a long run like the pegasus.
Solid trail shoe for a Newton runner
5'6" 120 lbs. 55-70 mpw
Finally, great job on this one Nike.
4mm drop is excellent, I love how they even write 10-14 on the shoe (10mm forefoot, 14mm heel). I usually run in newtons but I'm a forefoot striker so I can really "cheat" and use the lugs to gain forward momentum. If anyone runs in newtons or brooks pure, you'll like this shoe for the trail.

I use the Wildhorse for Trail and Mountain running. This shoe is the first time in about a decade that it is evident that Nike actually tried to make a good trail shoe. They succeeded. Great traction, adequate protection and very lightweight, this is the best trail shoe I have ever had.
Love these! Great sole for trails traction and flexible + super cushiony. Why these should ever be endangered is beyond me...they nailed it with these shoes. Will get another pair for sure!
