Worked really well the first two times I used it and was really close without calibrating it. On my third run, it didnt find the sensor. Didnt really think anything of it. Tried it one more time still didnt pick-up anything.

once you get it calibrated acurate its as good as a polar system without having to use a big stupid looking foot pod!

This product is not bad for what it is and what it costs. You have to calibrate it on a treadmill before you use it to measure your strides per mile. Seeing as your stride changes throughout your run it will never be totally accurate. It is good for giving you accurate time and approximating your distance and pace. For $30 it is a worth wile product. If you want 100% accuracy, there are quite a few products on the market in the $200-$400 range.

Worked great for 1 day then it completely stopped working. The miles were so far off it wasn't even funny. I was really looking forward to this sensor, but am super disappointed. Waste of money for sure.

Terrible! Impossible to synch up. Was 2.5 miles behind(!) while I was running my first half marathon. Will return it back to the store. A waste of money.

Love the concept. Has been pretty accurate for me. Been using for about 2 years now, am on my third sensor. The 3rd sensor lasted about 1 month -12 workouts. The price may be inexpensive as one review stated, but buying 3 or more in one year is not worth the price. Am going with a Garmin 305...will use the iPod for music only.

It's a pretty good product. It's not a 100% accurate, but close enough. I have lost a couple of runs though which really sucked. I like when you hit a personal best like fastest mile or longest workout a celebrity athlete will say congratulations. So far I've only heard Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, and Joan Benoit Samuelson.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Not only is this product extremely inaccurate, but after only using it 5 times, put it in sleep mode to save battery. Never came out of sleep mode, battery was dead. Another disappointment from NIKE. Look at the Garmin or Ironman for much better quality and results.

OK, first of all look at the price. It's dead cheap, so don't expect military precision. Having said that, I can't believe how much my running has improved knowing my relative changes in pace during the run. I can now manage negative spits! A total favorite tool. Very motivational.

Works great for what it cost. It took me a little while to get it calibrated, but once I did it is pretty accurate. Not dead on, but for the money close. If you need exact get gps, if not this will work great.

Decent idea. Bad Execution. Ran ten miles (measured with running club). It said it was nine. Tried in vain to callibrate it. Customer Product has such promise. Unfortunately, it cost me alot of money with the Ipod, shoes, sensor, and armband to realize it was inferior.

Using for 6 months now. Great idea, great web based tools and excelent motivation tool. The problem is that the distance is far for being accurate. Only have one dimension, so elevation and size of your step (if you run faster near the finish) is not taked into consideration.

It's not perfect Nike even told me that,i have 2 different sensors one reads a little shorter. It will give different readinds depending on the weather, stride and elevation changes.I have the polar rs 200 also hardly ever use the wearlink heart rate moniter more because everyting seems to inteferes with it and its nice not having that big foot pod on top of my shoes just started to use sensor on my trail shoes.

Major Software Glitches!!! I have lost numerous runs, just today...after coming back from my 18 mile was not there??? While Nike+ remains a good idea, it does have numerous software glitches that will prevent me from purchasing any more sensors. I have tried using my wife's Nano, just to check if it's the iPod, but it did the same thing, no run existed at all??? The trend I see is it only records runs under 10 miles. another problem is sometimes the voice doesn't talk to you during the run, even when you press the center button. Again, lots of software glitches that need fixing, and current owners need to be reimbursed somehow.

I hate giving a 1 star to this because it helped me get into running. Was not accurate however. Even after calibration my running partners had the same problem. We went to the Garmin...Haven't looked back. Great Idea Nike, hooked me into buying two pair of shoes!

Great product and website with one catch. I used it with an Asics shoe and a Marware holder while training for the Chicago Marathon. It worked great for two months, but then the battery died. That's when I found out that you can't replace the battery and have to buy a completely new sensor for $20.

How in the world could this product only be 20 something bucks. This thing is awsome. It has change the way I run, I don't need to jump in my car and drive around trying to mark the distace ran. One thing, when you wear it put it on you shirt or some where that it can't get the reciever wet. As soon as it gets wet your done. It will dry out and work. Also calibrate..calibrate...I calibrate every two weeks- depends if I am getting better....key notes key dry... don't lose the small peices. Also it may work better having the sensor on top of your shoe. I DO HAVE THE NIKE shoes for it, but sometime you can feel it when you hit a pump hard. seem more accurte on top. In iraq just doing my thing. thank rr- Your the sh:"

Make sure you calibrate it frequently. It will give you false times and distances. I recommend you calibrate it at a track at least every 2 weeks.

I have only had a few small runs with this new device but I love it already. I like knowing I can blaze new trails and it will record the proper mileage for me and let me now my calorie burn and average pace. I think as time goes on the technology for this product will improve and maybe even include Heart rate as well. Or even add sprint workouts to the types of workouts - Enjoy

I, personally love this item, being an old, indoor treadmill lover. It tells me how far I have gone, how long I have to go...whatever I set it on. It is motivational for me. It may not be completely accurate, but it can be calibrated to each persons stride, which helps. Also, it is acurate on actual time spent walking or running, so you atleast know you have done a certain amount. For the price, I would recommend it as an aid to motivate.

Hopefully this answers some questions posed by others. Unfortunately no, you cannot use this device with any IPod outside of the Nano. Apple's and Nike's reasoning for this changes on a monthly basis. You do not have to buy the Nike+ shoes to use the device. Marware offers a great option, a small velcro pouch which loops into the shoelaces. They also offer a much better wrist/armband than Nike. The Nike version does not have a clear faceplate for the IPod, so you would be trying to control the IPod in the blind. The Marware band fixes this problem.

Sounds like a great idea, BUT Nike will not tell you what technology this device employs. If it actually worked and was accurate, why won't they tell us??? It's not GPS Like Garmin or Timex. Is it inertial, like Polar??? Those suck, FYI. I run on trails in the trees and have bought them all. I can tell you Timex sucks in the trees and has too many heavy pieces (armband etc), Polar is IMPOSSIBLE to calibrate and their manual and customer service are the WORST of any product of any type that I have EVER envcountered in my life. I had to get used to my Polar 625x being 25% off, which means you can't use any of the data such as speed, pace etc. I now have a Garmin 301 which is WONDERFUL. Totally easy to use and accurate, it tracks 11 satelites or something like that, so I have never lost signal, even in heavy Redwoods. Then, all you have to do to uploud it is pop it into the cradle and it opens up your run on a map and graphs with every possible combo of data that you can peruse.

Wed, October 18,2006:
Overall, this is a great little gadget. It is inspiring to hear one's progress with the mere touch of a button. However, the distance tracking fluxuates even after calibration, when I run the exact same route a second time; and unless I am doing something wrong or my kit is defective, the pace per mile indication also fluxuates dramatically during the course of a run -- by as much as :40 seconds -- when I know my pace is steady. But for $29.00, it's really not bad.

I am a relatively new runner and the Nike+ equipment has really helped to aid me in my running. Being a tech geek it was actually a novel way to get me out of the house and onto the road. The interface is quite simplistic and easy to set up in iTunes, and the web page is very comprehensive at tracking your workouts. I actually look forward to going out on my daily runs now, and to actually see and hear my progress has really helped to keep me motivated.
