Expensive but worth it
I live in the Chicago area and it can get a bit cold here. I can't stand running indoors on a treadmill, so I'm willing to invest in products that will enable me to run outside even when the weather is cold and wet. This is my second Nike Element jacket (I lost my first one) and this newest iteration is even better than the original version. Today was cold (42F) and drizzling but I was able to run a few miles because my Nike Element Shield Max jacket performed exactly as advertised. I was warm and dry, as was my iPhone (which fit nicely in the front zippered pocket). I use a Bluetooth headset but if you use a standard headset the jacket provides the means for you to snake the headset cable through the back of the zippered chest pocket to your phone/MP3 player. The lined, adjustable hood enabled me to run without the need for a hat. The sleeves have a very nice cuff w/ a thumb hole that prevents them from riding up and also keeps the wind from getting to me. Overall, a very comfortable fit. The only downside (to me) is that there weren't other colors available. The dark olive green isn't too bad but I have a preference for black. This jacket isn't cheap but it will enable me to comfortably run outside over the winter months.
