"Sweat-free for miles"? Not quite.

Just got these in the mail and wore them on a run. Really liked how these fit -- I'm 5'7", 148 lbs and bottom-heavy with very muscular thighs. These capris didn't cut into me uncomfortably anywhere -- the waistband is secure at my natural waist. They stayed in place for 7 miles -- no wedgies! That said, by the end of my run -- indoors, on a treadmill, in a 68 degree temperature controlled room -- I looked like I wet my pants. Sweat was visible from my crotch to my mid-thigh (front and back). Awkward. I just wish RRS mentioned this in their description -- I prefer my running tights to be as sweat-proof as possible and I would not have bought them if I had known that this would happen. I'd recommend them to a friend, but not for running or cardio. I like them and I'm keeping them (mostly because I just sweated all over them), but I imagine I'll wear them mostly for yoga and strength training, lest other runners and gym goers believe that I am incontinent!

Not for running

2

Pretty much all of my running clothes are RRS gear, and I've loved everything I've purchased so far, except for these. I got them because I liked how they looked in the picture and the detail on the calf is cute, but for high intensity exercise, they aren't the best choice. I chose the teal color, planning to wear them in my next half marathon, and the first time I wore them in a training run, I, like another poster, looked like I peed my pants. The fabric is very soft and thicker than other RRS pants, but it doesn't wick sweat very well at all. Needless to say I did NOT wear them in the half. As for the fit, I'm a size 6 and I always get size small in compression pants/shorts, because I like a snug fit. Wish I'd got medium in these - the rise is short, so they always feel like they are falling down when I run, and then when I tug them up, they [very visibly] pull up in the crotch. Sexy.

No Back Zipper!

I'll begin by stating that I haven't run in these yet so I can't comment on how the fabric wicks sweat. I did order the plum color, which is a dark purple, so I'm hoping there aren't problems like other reviewers mentioned. The capris are very comfortable and soft. The ruching on the calves is very cute, but I'm baffled by the mention of a back zippered pocket. My capris have no zipper or back pocket. There is a hidden pocket inside the front waistband, which is better than nothing. I'm just confused by the missing pocket. Even the tags state there should be a pocket. Does anyone at RRS know where the pocket went?

Quality

These are great for workouts. They were thicker than I expected and being outside in the dessert, it was a little uncomfortable. However, wearing these at the gym they fit well. So i'm getting back in shape after a "fat" period and these pants while comfortable and have good support, they show my cellulite horribly well. On a positive note, I ashamedly have a lower belly from overindulging in the past and the top part of the pants do not roll down/under as other workout pants have. So i'm not constantly trying to stuff myself back in. I would recommend them for the overall fit and quality.

Not great for running in warm weather

I returned these pants bc they felt thick and soft, almost like fleece but not not as fuzzy. They would be too thick and warm for sunny weather. Cute color though and seemed high quality.

I like these for cooler, but not cold, weather. From the photo, I thought they were darker, which is what I wanted. I do like them.
