I started wearing the RRS High Speed compression shorts 5 yrs ago. This is now the 3rd version and they have improved each time. Most noticeable is the fabric change. I loved the previous design, but this new fabric is even better. Soft and smooth on my skin -I don't even feel it. I love that RRS does not use elastic or silicone leg grippers and the legs do not ride up at all. The pockets are a great addition across the back however, they are very small. Surprisingly I am able to put my phone in the center pocket. It holds tight to my back and I never feel it there, which is awesome. The 2 pockets on either side I can squeeze 1 Gu into each. Really I don't have anything else to carry. But it would have been better if those side pockets were vertical. The flap over the top is great for holding my phone in, but it makes it hard to wiggle a Gu out sideways. That's my only complaint though. I'm buying more.
I've been trying to find shorts that aren't too long, aren't too short, that don't ride up. These are the winner! I run to the gym then lift weights in them. The ride up maybe 1/2", so no big deal. They are super comfortable with a wide waist band that doesn't dig into your stomach. The only drawback is there are no side pockets. There is a back/waist pocket and that works fine but I prefer the side pocket type. I also wish they came in a color other than boring black - I would buy more! Come on Roadrunner - make these in fun patterns like so many tights come in these days!

Bring back the Old Version Please
I have many pairs of the old version of these shorts and love them. The "new" style (it'sbeen a while) with the wide waist band is horrible. It rides up so that the crotch feels tight even though they are not too small. I keep expecting the design to change because I can't be the only one that noticed the change for the worse. Your other 6 inch compression short looks exactly the same so I am out of options. The old ones are wearing out so it is time to look at a different brand. Please bring back the old version.
Ride up immediately when running.
These are really nice looking and comfortable shorts. I usually wear compression shorts under regular shorts when running for support and extra coverage. I liked these so much that I was going to wear them on their own. They felt good and stayed put. Everything changed when I did a little warm-up run before a race. The instant I ran, they rode up. WAY up. Within a quarter mile run, I spent the entire time, yanking them back down. Thank God I had another pair of shorts with me to change into. I can't really even wear them layered underneath regular shorts. They're up around my leg creases/groin immediately when I run.
Great-looking for standing still or walking, though!
For reference. I'm 5'4", 141 pounds, size medium.
I gave up on shorts in many, many years because they all seem to ride up - even at my thinnest (which I am not now) something about my mechanics/body type causes shorts to ride up/bunch. However, after some very hot runs this summer, at the urging of others in my running group, I gave these a shot and am so glad I did. In fact, after wearing them once, I hopped back online and bought another pair!
These don't ride up but, even if they do, they are long enough that they'd still be decent. I'm shocked at the other reviews that say they ride up because, as someone who *always* experiences riding up, they didn't on me. They're so comfy (and cool!) and look really cute. Run true to size. Just wish they came in other colors/prints!
Seams are irritating
I love all things RRS, and I am a VIP Plus member. I love the compression shorts, but the crotch seam is so uncomfortable that I sent them back. This must be a change to earlier versions. Also, the length can't be six inches. Comparing them to previous models, no way. I love RRS. I hope future revisions fix this seam.
Love these shorts
With my thighs being proportionately big to the rest of my body, most compression much higher than my knees rides up badly. I wish I could wear 3.5 inch inseams, but it never works well for me. These shorts do ride up a tad, but very little compared to what I am used to. Even with the inch or less they ride up, there is still more than enough length on them to keep me from feeling like I'm in a bikini bottom. I run and do Crossfit in them and love them enough that I'm buying another pair. I just wish there were some fun color or pattern options.

This version rides up
I have been wearing the road runner 6" compression shorts for at least 10 years, and I wish I had listened to the reviewer who said that this version is a change for the worse. The sizing runs small and they ride up terribly. I wish they had stayed with a product that was quality and fit well rather than ruining it. Now I have to find a new kind of shorts.
I received these a couple of days ago and wore them immediately for a 5 mile run. The material has a wonderful feel and they are very comfortable to wear; the legs did not ride up on me. I would actually rate these shorts 4.5 stars if I could; I knock off half a star because the pockets are very shallow. Size small fits me perfectly, 5'4", 121 lbs.

Disappointed they've once again changed a good thing
Loved the High-Speed compression short, no longer available in my size, so I ordered the SpeedPro Compression short. Definitely not the same. The legs of the High-Speed stayed in place/didn't ride up. The SpeedPro is great until I start running, then the legs ride up. If I wanted a shorter-leg compression short, I'd have ordered the 3.5" version.
Love the pockets
Nice shorts. Very comfortable and don't ride up. Love the pockets for carrying GU etc. You don't even notice they're there till you need them. Wore these for my first marathon. Perfect. I wear a size 4-6 and like the fit of the medium.
I was hesitant to spend the money on these but am ecstatic I did!!! Wore them for a crossfit workout and didn't ride up at all. They should be great for running. Can't wait to order more!
