Great long tight for tall gals

5

I ordered the Medium Tall tights and wore them for the first time tonight. Overall I was very pleased. The material is of an average weight - good for some warmth, but not super arctic temps. It was about 30 degrees tonight when I ran and I was comfortable. I wear about a 35-36" inseam and am about 140 pounds and the MT fit fine. It's actually quite long - the longest pair of tights that I have ever seen (and which I am very excited about, usually they don't come close to my ankles!). I probably have an extra inch of fabric at the bottom, but I also have fairly skinny calves so I think most others would not have this problem (and I am not complaining about it). The fit is nice and comfortable. I noticed some others have complained about the zippers rubbing on their ankles, but I ran for 5 miles and didn't have that problem at all. The zipper is on the outside of the tights, so it doesn't directly contact the skin. Thanks for offering such a long running tight!

Everything & more would buy over & over

I can't believe I have finally found a pair of running tights that fit me. I am tall with very long legs. All the other brands look like capris on me. I bought both the regular and thermal RRS Velocity tights and LOVE them. My daughter came home to visit who has the same long legs, tried mine on and loved them so much we went straight to the computer to order hers.....she is hooked. They are so comfortable I could wear them all day. Hope RRS never stops making these pants. I also bought the tights in the shorts and capris style and they are perfect too. I would suggest them to anyone looking for a great running tight. Thank you RRS!

I will buy them over & over!

I am 5'10" and all legs (36" inseam). I could never find a pair of running tights that were long enough and fit in the crotch area, until I bought the RRS Velocity Tight. They fit perfect so perfect that when my daughter came to visit she tried them on and was so pleased we got on line and ordered her a pair too. The price and quality was excellent, other brands don't come close to comparing. I also bought the RRS capri and shorts and again very pleased. I hope they never stop making them. Other brands must not think women have long legs. Thank you RRS!!!

Nice!

5

These are very nice tights - and they aren't too long! I have read a lot of reviews about the zipper rubbing but that hasn't been a problem for me. I am 5'2", 125lbs, long torso, and the small fits well. I wish they were just a tad heavier weight - more like compression tights... just because I feel those might hold you in better (esp in the butt area!) but still nice. I recommend them. but not for cold weather - just cool.

Cold Weather? No Problem w/these tights!

5

These tights are perfect for those days when the temps are low and you need an outdoor workout. They are well designed with features most useful to runners! Often times I will buy a knock-off brand for certain workout gear, but not tights. No other brand can match the quality, durability and comfort of Road Runner tights!

Wonderful tights!

5

These tights are great! I live in the Chicago burbs and wear these running outside in the winter and they are great! Thin enough to wear under other pants when it's really cold and warm enought to wear by themselves once it hits about 30. I'm 5'3" and about 130, ordered the small and they fit great, just a little long (but not enough for me to return them).

great tights

4

These were my first set of tights, finally gave it and bought some. I love the fit, not too tights and digging into my waist, not too baggy in the butt or thighs. If I could change one thing, it would be the zipper on the back of the ankle- I have to make sure it's zipped the entire way or it really rubs. Overall, they fit the bill for my walking in northern Michigan! Great alone or with layers over them.

these tights make me feel fast

5

I had been searching for a pair of running tights that didn't strangle me or end up in puddling at the ankles after a short run. These are perfect. I rarely have to pull them up or readjust. They are comfy, look good and wash well. I am 5'7" and weight 130 and the small fit well. I hope RR makes them in a capri model

Perfect fit!!

I was surprised at the features of these tights for the price, which I couldn't see from the picture alone. I am 5'1", 120 - 125 pounds; ordered the PS and they fit perfectly! Purchased some Skechers Resistor running shoes and now I'm all set for some additional New Year jogging....Happy New Year!

Worth the money

4

I like the feel and the look of this tight. It's perfect for running in this type of cool weather of October and November. One minor thing, I didn't like the zippers because they bother me a bit. Otherwise, a great value for this price and excellent quality.

Love them!

The length is great....no riding up, bought the tall/long and it fully covers by ankles....only issue was first time I zipped them up one zipper split open...after closing and rezipping all has been fine. These are exceptionally comfortable!

at 5"10, I have a hard time finding workout clothing that is long enough. I got these in ST and they are perfect. The inseam goes right to my ankle socks so I don't get a cold spot. I hope RR decides to make their tops/jackets and thermal tights in tall sizes, too!

Wonderful product

5

I was thrilled to find a women's tight in a length that was long enough for me. I wear a 34" inseam in most pants, and these fit me perfectly. It is wonderful to be able to wear women's running pants instead of men's, especially at this price!

EXCELLENT tights!

5

I run 15-25mi/week. These tights are the best ones I have found for tall people that are affordable! I am about 5'9" with long legs...I wear about a size 5/6 and got a medium in these tights and they fit perfect. No problems/chaffing from the zipper on me. They are great!

Lightweight and super comfortable!

I got these for running in cooler temps and absolutely LOVE them. They fit great and are so lightweight. I especially love the waistband that is wider and very comfy as well. There was no chafing at all and feel great to run in!

Running tights

4

These tights are a good length but the position of the zips behind the achilles rubs and on longer runs takes the skin off making it uncomfortable to stride out. They are good for runs less than 5km when the rubbing is limited so not too much skin is removed.

I have the previous ...

3

I have the previous version of the road runner sports tights in long (long running tights are near impossible to find!). The old version didn't have zippered ankles, and were long enough to wear tucked over my heels (under the socks). The new tights have zippers int he back, so i can't tuck them under my heels or into my shoe without ripping up my feet, the bottom hem has rubber on it as if to hold to the outside portion of your shoe, but it doesn't hold and instead just bunches up above my ankle. These tights are long enough, but b/c of the zipper i still end up with a swath of skin exposed to the elements. These are heavier tights than the original version, still need 2 layers in weather below 32 degrees. The knee vents might be good in warm weather, but in cold they are a detriment. Despite hating the zippers, i would buy these again. I'm 6'0 and these are still the best long running pants available.

3

There is good and bad with these tights - the good was the weight of the fabric and the length (I have a hard time getting tights long enough)the bad is these are hip huggers - no where in the decribption does it say that they hit below the waist - unfortunatly this means my serch goes on - had to return the tights

Seem like good tights

4

I haven't run in them yet, but they seem ok. Going to wear them for cooler New England days. I wish the material was shinier! the zippers are cool. i am 5'8" and 145 lbs and ordered the medium. they are long but i like to roll things at the top and cut out tags.

These are the best tights ...

5

These are the best tights that I have ever owned. No special care required--wash & low heat dry. Perfect! I am 5'9" and wear a size 10. I have a 34.5 inch inseam and a short torso so I never thought that any tight would be athletically functional and have a great fit. I am sooooo happy that I was wrong! I love them and just ordered two more MT's. There's no rubbing, chaffing or irritation at all (I have extremely sensitive skin too). They are warm in cold conditions (30 degrees) and breathe well and are comfortable on warm days. I wish that all RRS gear (including tops) were available in tall sizes for tall women but these are a great start. Thanks RRS for making these tights!

Awesome!

5

I bought these last fall for running and they are awesome. I need compression due to a medical condition and I don't like the compression yoga pants I have so I decided to wear these to class last week and they are the perfect yoga pants for me. I am 5'9 1/2" with a 34 inch inseam and these pants offer plenty of stretch so I can pull the ankle all the way to the middle of my foot. I love that I can wash them at night, hang them to dry and they are ready to wear in the morning. My teenaged daughter says they are really cute and wants a pair for herself (and my husband says they really flatter my rear-end if you care about that sort of stuff). I weigh 125 and the size small tall fit me perfectly. Added bonus - you can't beat the price!

Great tights for those low temp runs

4

I have two of these. I love the fact that these come in petites. That's a godsend for this 5'2" girl. I have worn these in a 30 degree (21 degree feels like temp) days with double layered top and I was fine. After running 2 miles, when I stopped at intersections, I felt a little cool in my lower body, but nothing uncomfortable. I probably won't wear this alone in weather where it's under 25 degrees, but with an additional set of tights on top, could go down a bit. I like the zipper and the fit. Nothing to complain there. One note, the string has a tendency to go into the waist band. You might want to knot the two ends together before putting them on for the first time.

My New Favorite Running Gear

4

I love that I finally found pants that are just the right length. I am 5'2" and have found that most running tights are not made for us folks who are slightly vertically challenged. The zipper at the ankles was relatively comfortable and once I got moving I didn't notice them at all. I found that my thighs were not very warm but that ended up working in my favor by not allowing me to get too warm in all my other layers I had on the top half. The only problem that I have is that they don't stay up well (yes, I use the drawstring), but that is probably to no fault of the pants as I have that issue with a lot of bottoms I wear since I am lacking in the hip and bum area. Great pants! I plan on buying more as the cooler weather approaches.

Overall, for the price ...

4

Overall, for the price I'm happy with these tights. I am short (5'2") with short legs, and they fit me perfectly. Although I was told on the phone that the petite would be about an inch or two shorter than the regular size, I ordered both and if anything the petite felt a little longer (but were all over more snug). The one negative is the construction of the back pocket--there is only a layer of mesh between the contents of the pocket and your skin, so when I keep my keys inside it tends to chafe (and the location of the pocket is not a place where you want chafing!)

Great length, but run large.

4

Nice enough tights, but will not be able to use them for intended purpose... bought them to run in, but they offer no support or compression, so am using them for dog walking & using the treadmill at home. They run large & are very high-waisted, though that could be due to having ordered a 'tall' size. For reference, I'm just under 5' 10" and weigh 150-155 on any given day. I ordered the LT and the length is awesome, but they are almost loose on me... definitely no compression for even a casual runner. I have my doubts that even sizing down would have given me enough compression as the fabric is very thin.

Finally, a Great Petite Fit!

5

I've looked everywhere for a petite tight that works for my short legs, and this is it! I'm 5'3", 130 lbs, with a long waist, and short legs (28" inseam for jeans). Most running tights are too long, even in petite sizes. I bought these in both small and medium. Both fit me, but I'm more comfortable in the small. One problem was that the tie at the waist was too short, and I lost it the first time I put the pants on. I pulled it out and rethreaded it, but sewed a bead at each end of the tie. Kind of a pain, but worth it for these great pants. Love the ankle zipper. I run daily in California, so I don't know if these pants would be warm enough for an eastern winter, but they are warm enough for me on my coldest Bay Area days.

Thought I'd use just for running, but with wind chills at 25 below zero, they're great to wear under everyday clothes too.

That darn seam...

4

After wearing the same pair of RRS running tights for the past decade (or more!), I decided it was time to pony up the bucks for a new pair. Although I'm only 5'8" I ordered a Medium Tall to ensure adequate length. Not necessary - way too long! I can live with the extra inches bunched up at my ankles but then there is this -- that mesh panel behind the knees. I can feel the darn seam. I don't want to feel seams. On my second run wearing them, it was less noticeable so I'm thinking I can live with them. I may use the length issue, though, as an excuse to visit the brick&mortar store for the first time since I'll be in their neighborhood next week.

I was ecstatic to find running tights in petites, but they are (no surprise) too long for my 5 frame. The fit is otherwise great, except the ankles which are too tight, and with a back zipper, my poor Achilles is rubbed raw after a mile or so. Move the zipper to the outside, add more reflectivity, and Im sold but as is, Im sorely disappointed.

Good tights, especially since they are the only ones I could find in Petite lengths. I am 5'4", 130lbs, and the medium fits perfectly, a tad long at the ankles but not too bad. I took one star off because the venting material at the back on the knee is quite scratchy and annoys me after a few miles. Hopefully it will soften over time because they are totally comfortable otherwise.

I love the thickness and feel of these tights. They are very simple (I am not crazy about those with all the bells and whistles--stitching, zippers, drawstrings, etc.). However, I got a small and they are WAY too short. The Medium Long was long enough but were baggy around the knees and hips. I'm 5'8" and about 130 (normal inseam about 32-33 inches), so I'm not too abnormal for a runner. I stayed with the smalls, but wish they made a small long.
