Product SCN1040 Review

This Shoe is AWESOME

This shoe is awesome for me, and hopefully for you. I am not the oldest runner and I am not the heaviest. I only weigh 118 right now, so the pounding on the shoe isn't as hard as a bigger person would have on it. I love these on long town runs, and even for workouts on the track. I always appreciate ;stylish, lightweight, performance, and durable shoes. To find all those in one shoe is very tedious. Luckily, for me, I found the right shoe for me. I love the quality that Saucony provides with the shoes they make. The only thing that didn't draw me in was the colorways. On this site only 2 are provided. I have the silver/citron pair. I was hoping for more colorways brighter that provide that "pop" when people see you running down the street. On the other hand, these shoes do match with much more clothing than my Nike LunarGlide 4 that are bright orange, but I am starting to grow on the subtle looks that the ProGrid Guide 6 provides. Hopefully, these shoes turn out just as great for you as they did for me!

Great stability shoe

The ProGrid Guide 6 is my go-to shoe for stability running. It provides a secure, snug fit along the upper and maximum cushioning and support in the forefoot. Saucony has never dissapointed me.

Very good first impression

I have never tried saucony before but i think i will be a life long fan! These sneakers are very comfortable, the support is perfect for me and i love how the heel isn't too far off the ground but is very supportive. I LOVE a minimulist feel but unfortunately i'm flat footed and my feet need lots of support so this is as good as it gets. I believe these shoes are true to size, i bought a half size up and it felt too big. So the only thing i don't like about it is my feet do look a little large in them (5'7 wearing size 12)

Lightweight Stabilizing Running Shoe

I used these to run 12 - 15 miles per week. I have a history with Brooks and Nike. ProGrid Guide 5 and 6 had great ratings, so I tried them out. I require good stability. So far, these shoes have been comfortable from the first run and provided the support needed. They are lightweight for a stability shoe. I have not experienced any negatives so far. I recommend buying the shoe on-size, not a half size up like recommended. For comparison, an 11 in this shoe is longer and wider than an 11 in Brooks or Nike.

I took a chance on these as I've never run in Saucony before and it seemed every time I found a shoe I liked it was discontinued. I pronate a bit and suffer some from runner's knee and the usual ailments of distance running. So far these have produced no problems whatsoever. They are light and comfortable to the point I don't think about my feet or shoes when I run. I can only hope Saucony doesn't mess with the design too much with the 7.

A great find

I run about 20-30 miles a week and compete in road races from 5k to half marathons along with triathlons. This shoe was a great find after using asics, sketchers and nike. The other shoes were not bad but the saucony guide just felt the best with the right amount of cushioning and support. After about 200 miles now I still feel great in these shoes, a big recommendation from me!

El Centro, CA

nice lightweight shoe

These were surprisingly light and I really liked the "cushiness" of the sole. For a stability shoe it seemed to fit and perform more like a neutral shoe. I like the minimal shoe strings and the breathability of the shoe. I sent them back on my 90 day wear em' or love em' guarantee which is why I buy everything from Roadrunner only because I wanted to try the stability plus shoes from Saucony.

Why change a good shoe?

I have worn Saucony for years and loved them for their durability and fit. I need a wider toe box and the Sauconys were great until the changed to a narrowed toe box. I also noticed that they broke down much faster, On prior versions I could get 400+ miles and these lost their cushioning after about 150. Thankfully RR has an awesome return policy. I am no longer a Saucony fan.

Sprinter Shoes

I tend to use these shoes on trail runs and on interval training. They are lightweight and responsive. The traction could be better. I have some issues using them on longer distances due to cushioning issues. I would relate these shoes to a sports car. They are nimble and speedy but for long journeys maybe not the most comfortable or best on gas.

Ellicott City, MD

frustrated by Asics 2000, after many yrs of 2100 series, switched to Saucony pro grid 6. Fabulous. lightweight, comfortable. Ran 10K 1 hour after purchase. No soars or even red marks on my feet. Going from D to 2E, per RoadRunner store magr, was big help. Been running comfortably, and semi-fast every day since.

Pay more = Better quality

My previous shoe was the Saucony Guide 5 bought online from RRS. I paid less than $100 and the shoe quality was poor. I wanted to stick with Saucony so I decided to pay more for the Progrid Guide 6 and was rewarded with a better shoe. Tip: If you have a sore achilles tendon don't tighten the laces too snug.

Comfy and light

I run, crossfit and commute to work in these. They are mostly comfortable. Very light. I have high archs so they are a little snug across the top of my feet but are otherwise perfect for my needs. I'll be curious to see their durability, they are only a few weeks old just yet.

Light weight, but good support

I only run about 2 - 3 times a week because of back issues. I need running shoes that help soften the ride, but like everyone else, I wanted lightweight shoes. These shoes fit the bill perfectly! They feel very light, but give me the support and cushioning I need.

Ellicott City, Maryland

Decent shoe for regular training

I run in these shoes daily on roads, trails, treadmill and elliptical trainers, and they work well on all surfaces. Light enough for speed workouts, too. I wish the heel were higher, but all in all am satisfied with the shoe and just bought my second pair. Good value.

Saucony does it again!

Saucony's ( 25+ yrs) are my running shoes and these are my favorite to date. The updates on this shoe work well for me. Remind me of their Hurricane in terms of comfort, support and stability. Great trail shoe and cross-trainer.

Maple Valley, WA

Too dang Narrow (compared to 5s, kinvara

toebox is about 10% narrower than Guide 5, which fits me just fine. kinara 3 fits me fine in the same size as well. I ran 4 miles in these with my toes rubbing the side/front the whole way. if you are normal width foot, you might have same problem. Be warned!

Great Training Shoe

This is my second pair of these shoes. Options are limited in Performance Stability in size 10 2E. These are excellent shoes. They wear well and are very comfortable. Weight is good for performance stability.

Great as always

If you have used this shoe before don't hesitate to use it again. If you are new to this shoe it fits great in the forefoot and heel and has a nice stable feel without feeling heavy and clunky.

Impressive shoe

Nice looking shoe, very comfortable. Right out of the box went for 5 mile run and fit was great. Lightweight.... only concern will be how well they hold up being as light as they are..... very nice shoe.

Spearfish, SD

stable and light

Great fit. Perfect combination of stability, cushioning and weight. I have fallen arches and wear moderae orthodics. This shoe gives me the support I need and some flexiblity. Love it's light weight. Make these a classic!

Ridgewood, NJ

Best Training Shoe out there

Used for training runs 5-8 miles 6 times a week. great Cushion on heal strike. But... Life span is short.

Imperial Ca

Light shoe for training and racing.

Great all around shoe. Light enough for racing, yet good cushioning and support for training miles.

Celebration, Florida

I'm a Saucony fan and this inexpensive version is a steal and couldn't be happier with it.

New York

Not as nice as prior versions

This version of the Guide did not hold up as well as prior ones.

Light and Comfortable

5-10 miles weekly of running on the street.

Oceanside, CA

Love the shoes

Fit great

Soft Sauconys

This is a soft, mild stability shoe I use on a rubber track. It has been particularly useful as I finish a year-long foot rehab and begin running again. I have given these shoes their rating on this specialty-use basis, so not everyone will appreciate this value. I bought these because they are available in a EE width and I do not regret the purchase.
