Run in lots of road races; 5k, 10k, 15k, Half (and annually in a Full). Appropriate amount of training runs to go along with all the races.
I've owned three Mirage 2's and they were exactly what I was looking for in longer runs (races or training); stability, not too heavy and 4mm heel to toe drop. And they had a very nice and roomy toe box.
As it was time to buy a new pair, the Mirage 2's in my size are scarce so I ordered the 3's even though another reviewer said it was more narrow than the 2's. I should have listened to that review, as the 3's are much more narrow than the 2's. Unless you have narrow feet, these shoes will be tight in the toe box. For example you can actually see the outline of my little toe just glancing down at the shoe (on my foot) and my feet are NOT wide.
My main disappointment is that any shoe company would change the way they size the shoe. A 10.5 D should be a 10.5 D whether it is an old version of a shoe or a new version. A new version of a running shoe would understandable tweak or add features, but not change how the shoe fits or is sized.
Additional Note: I selected 'feels half a size too small'. However, that is not a negative. In the advertisement for the shoe it says to select a half size larger, which I did. So no issues there.
Great minimilist shoe with stability
I run at least two marathons a year, and due to calf issues I've been trying to switch to more of a ball strike. I found it hard to find any shoe that has pronation control without a huge heel height. This shoe performs well so long as you don't heel strike. I do use these shoes one size larger than my normal walking shoes, and they are very comfortable with plenty of toe box room sized this way. I have fairly narrow feet and these work well for me.
Other shoes from Brooks and Asic I always had to toss after 300 miles. I'm at nearly 400 miles with my first pair of Saucony Mirage 3's and they still feel good (150+ miles on my second pair).

I had trouble with the narrowness of these shoes. I checked half size too small becasue I already size up as I find running shoes in general are too narrow.
The combination of the narrow toe box and the placement of the black rubber weld caused blisters for me on my little toe.
Several months later, they are broken in pretty well and I actually enjoy them on shorter runs. If they fit this way out of the box I would love them. Hopefully, Saucony listens to the feedback and make the next gen with a wider toe box.

An excellent trainer for low-volume foot
Excellent shoe for those of us with a low-volume and/or narrow foot. There are plenty of brands and models for wider feet available and I hope Saucony does not change the width on future models. I am rotating two pairs and they are both at about 200 miles with no evident breakdown yet. I have had zero problems with this shoe and highly recommend it, but try it on first and make sure it is the right model for you.
Running Down a Dream...
My first pair of real running shoes...
I nearly cried the first time I wore the shoes to run in. I was amazed. It was like running on clouds. They provided cushioning without feeling like you were running on a mattress. I trained 5 days per week on these including some races. I've become a huge fan of Saucony thanks to these.
Very light but way too Narrow
I really like the pro grid mirage 2 and continue to buy them at a discount. So, I tried the Pro Grid Mirage 3 and these are much narrower then the 2's.
I hope the 4's go back to being a little wider as I really like this lightweight and supportive shoe.

Traditional Support, Minimalist Feel
The only thing that would make these any better is a slightly wider toe box. Otherwise these shoes are great. They give the same support structure as more traditional shoes, while still holding to the 4mm drop I love from minimalist shoes.
The Missing Link
Great but narrow
As others have mentioned, this shoe is narrow. I have narrow feet and they fit well. If you have feet that are "normal" width I would guess you might need to size up but then you'll have issues with the length.
Light weight with cushioning
Excellent marathon trainer. Lighter and more comfortable than my Newtons.
West Newbury MA
Good fit at half size over usual. Toe box is nice and wide.
