Great lateral stability! Super versatile

5

These shoes rock! I've been running/hiking/climbing in them for decades. I'm an ankle roller, and these are the ONLY shoes that keep me from rolling my ankles, I've tried other shoes but the lateral stability of these shoes is unmatched. They're also super durable, I use them for road and trail running. I've topped out at 16,000 feet in these shoes, carried a full pack for days on trail and snow, used them as approach shoes on alpine climbs and for adventure races. I just hope Saucony never stops making them!

Great ride, short lifespan

4

Not the same shoe it was ten years ago (slightly looser/wider fit and I think the cushioning may be a bit less) but still better than anything else I've found. Lovely boucy/soft ride, wide toe box, room for high arches, and very very flexible under the balls of the feet. I've never gotten over 200 miles out of a pair, but I'm not religious about swapping shoes out immediately after running and I'm heavier than many women runners (155). I'll keep buying as long as Saucony keeps selling.

Luv these shoes!

5

I live in these shoes. Wear them for work where I do a lot of walking/running around. Keeps my feet comfortable all day long - even when I walk home from work! Wear them for exercise too- both running and walking. Comfy!! Only shoe I've found that fits my "duck feet"- wide in front and narrow heel. And comfy too!! Better not discontinue them or I'll be barefoot for sure! Did I mention they were comfortable?

Fantastic

5

I have been wearing this running shoe for the past 10 years. Every couple of years I decide to try a different pair and always return to this design. Though not the most stylish, they are very comfortable and durable for running. I have high arches and these shoes feel great. I typically run about 15-20 miles/week. I hope they never stop making them!

The best for years!

5

I have been wearing these for more years than I can remember. Although I've tried many other brands and styles, I keep coming back to these for casual running, short races and marathons. I have run 10 miles out of the box. I do use orthotics and the shoe accommodates them easily. They do wear out a bit fast losing cushion and fraying a bit at the toe but the price is right!

My choice for more than 15 years

4

These classics have carried my wide feet through 50,000+ miles, seven marathons, and more than 15 years. What the shoes lack in style they make up for in comfort, cushioning, and fit, e.g., the toe box of Saucony shoes tends to be roomier and better accommodates wide feet -- especially important over long distances.

I can always depend on the Shadow 6000

5

I keep coming back to the Shadow 6000 Classic and always have a pair in my running shoe rotation. This is the only model I have ever found in 25 years of running that I could put a new pair on marathon race day and know that I will not have any problems. I have won marathons wearing this shoe! I think this is the best shoe ever made and I hope you continue to carry. It has a classic good look and it does the job.

great classic!

5

I have been running in the Shadow 6000 for about 10 years. I am SO glad they still make it. I find this shoe has the right balance of stability, fit (generous toe box but narrow enough heel to fit well. I do not see any down sides. I always have new pair I am running in currently and have the next pair on reserve in the closet.

Thank goodness the style and quality hasn't changed in over 15 years of wear by me. My running days are over, but I have done 14 3Day 60 milers for Breast Cancer with these great shoes on my blister free feet. I'm a loyalist!

Still my favorite after 17 years!

5

RRS suggested this shoe for cushion & stability when I was pregnant with my now 17 year old son. Have tried others over the years, but find that I the Shadow 6000 provides the best fit, support and comfort for me.

5

I'm so excited to find these again! Used to buy in bulk in my younger days when they were first made, because they were discontinued awhile.. They don't hold up to high mileage; they're really more of a racing flat...BUT they are absolutely the BEST shoe ever made for someone who really would rather run barefoot but can't in urban settings, has no pronation problems, needs flex in the foot (current shoes are so rigid!), a wider toe box that doesn't slide - and - the best of all - those little triangles for traction for those of us who run in freezing conditions! I've never minded the color, since mine get mud-colored pretty fast...It doesn't matter it wears out fast, because the price is reasonable for something you use more often than anything else.

The Shadow 6000 is still my favorite

5

I've worn the Shadow 6000 since it was introduced in 1991. It has taken me through 2 marathons, countless shorter races, and daily 6 mile runs. I occasionally try a newer shoe but always go back.

I have been running in these shoes since 1991 and never had a problem except for large callous' on my big toes--but I attribute that to wearing men's shoes vs. women's. I have tried several other brands--adidas, NB, asics--and have ended up injured. For whatever reason, these do not aggravate my achilles tendinitis. Yes, they are somewhat outdated in appearance, but I choose comfort and function over asthetics. I average 30-40 mpw and they are kind to my VERY high arches. I am 5'8, 130#, 48 yo female. I have done 5 marathons (my PR being 3:29 a couple of years ago). I do most of my training in these, race in Saucony Azura and buy both in bulk. Please do not stop stocking these shoes!

A great basic walking or jogging shoe

This shoe is great for my daily power walks. I usually walk on the treadmill, but they take me outside and also onto the elliptical. I did have to size 1/2 size down for a good fit.

5

The only shoe I can wear... for work(RN), play, dress up, running, for 37 marathons. Orthotics fit in well, look nice. Get "dirty" quickly, but price is reasonable and I can rotate from being the "dress" shoe down to run, play shoe - often, since I can maintain a stockpile of them. I'm 62 y.o. woman and started wearing the original Shadow and then 6000 (never could get use to Shadow Grid)so I've been wearing this shoe since I was in my early 40"s!! and I'm still running strong! Thanks, Saucony, please ALWAYS make the Shadow 6000! They are taking to Boston Marathon, again, this month!

AWESOME Running Sneaker

5

I have run in this sneaker for over 25 years. Completed four Boston Marathons wearing them. Helped complete the BM in 2001 in 3 hours 23 minutes! I am so SAD that Saucony is no longer making this brand! I am at a loss! I agree with another review: e , Mo. I have run in this shoe for over 25 years and love it. It has led me to spend hundreds of dollars on other Saucony brand products. I have recommended it to others and they love it. I have read all 50+ reviews and cannot figure out why in the world such a popular shoe would be discontinued by Saucony. Please rethink this business decision.

Even my 20 yr old admits they're great!

5

Have loved these since first made! Even my 22 year old loves hers for every activity, though she thinks they look dumb and outdated (well, they were born about when she was!) Have never found another shoe even close to this good - that has the fit, or traction for SNOW and RAIN on ALL surfaces. They do wear out really fast - think of them as a racing flat not training shoe. Buy your own shoe - don't let friends choose for you..it's like choosing a book or movie - can never account for taste.

5

I started wearing this shoe 10 years ago when I began running seriously. After many miles and marathons, no injuries! I've tried different brands/styles, but always end up coming back. There is something unique about the rise of the heel that makes them perfectly comfortable and easy on the knees. Love the wide toe box, too. I know they're not pretty, and they don't hold up more than 300 miles or so, but I'll keep buying them as long as they're made.

I have worn these shoes since the were introduced. Prio to that time I wore the shadow. Typically run between 35-45 mpw and have only experience problems on two occasions when I tried a different shoe (NB-achillies/Saucony Swerve TI-IT Band). Will continue with this shoe as long as I run or as long as they are manufactured. I would like a long life from shoe, but will buy in bulk rather than switch.

I love these shoes, including their appearance. I have been wearing them for 6 years. They are lightweight, but provide good cushion and support. I purchase one pair for running and keep another pair for "dressy" wear. I don't find that they wear quickly (three months). Running shoes get sweaty and should be replaced regularly. You can afford to with this fair price.

Wonderful shoe. The other reviews got me to buy. The shoe itself will get me to buy it again. Jeepers! It is so much more comfortable than higher priced shoes. I do not run. Just wear it to work and casually. Love, Love, Love this shoe. I have flat feet and shoes with too much arch are very uncomfortable to me. I guess this has some arch but it causes no problems. Roomy toebox.

What a great shoe. I was prepared to sacrifice some stability for the 6000's famous cushioning but found them stable enough even for long runs.
