Classic Grid Hurricane Quality

I run/walk just about everyday and have arch issues. These are the only shoes I really love and I search for them all the time. My search is over. I can't find them in the mall, so now I'll be buying them here. They are great support, durable and sturdy. I was given a pair of Nikes a while back and I loved them, but they wore out in two months. The Grids usually last a lot longer. Very comfortable! PS I'm between 7 1/2 and 8. I always get the 8's. Perfect fit.

like brooks gts 6, 7, and 8's

5

I have been wearing brooks adreneline gts 6,7 and 8's for years. Then the store stopped selling these and I tried on the hurricane 10's. It had a very similar feel. I also have to wear orthotic inserts when I run and this shoe allowed the room for this. Very nice shoe. I also found a link about why someone running in hurricane 9's would not like the 10's. interesting article about heel to toe and heel to ball. Here is the link:[@]

If the shoe fits....buy it!

4

This is the ONLY running shoe that has worked for me since Nike stopped making the Durham. In fact, the ProGrid 11 doesn't even fit me as well as the ProGrid 10, so I buy them two or three pairs at a time. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the lacing just right. But when I do, they are as comfortable as can be, even for someone who pronates as badly as I do!

Sauconys Hurr 10 Outstanding Choice

4

Saucony is a great choice for women-narrow heel cup, roomy toe box. My personal bane-need for high arch support due to very flat feet - for which I compensate with addl insoles. The shoe is durable, supports pronation control, is breathable and lightweight. Have tried other brands and they just don't get it. Saucony does.

Love 'em!

I recently started to run on the roads again, after switching to trails 10 years ago due to knee pain and shin splints. I've only used these shoes a couple of times, but so far, they feel great on the roads! The cushioning is awesome, and makes me feel springy. I feel like the toe area is a bit narrow, but not too bad.

I love Hurricanes. I've been wearing them for many years. I used them on the trail, on the road and in the gym. I'm currently getting ready for the Crater Lake Rim run in Oregon....doing the 6.7 mile run. Can't wait to do it in my Hurrican X's!

Best Shoe for RN's

5

Ex-runner, now walking 12 hours a day as RN. My Saucony ProGrid Hurricane10's have eliminated my Plantar Fasciitis and at the end of my shift my feet feel great. No aches and no pain! I have been wearing this style for 3 years and hope they will always be available - can't work/walk without them!

Best Running Shoe!

5

I have run a half marathon and a full marathon in my first pair of these shoes. They are fantastic. Very supportive and comfortable. I NEVER have any shoe/foot problems. I highly recommend these shoes as they are very durable and last for many miles more than some of my previous shoes.

I have worn Hurricanes for many years. Hurricane 10's fit wider in the forefoot and feels wider in general. A very comfortable shoe but a different feel than previous models. Good arch support and great cushioning. I would recommend this shoe but would prefer older models.

I've been wearing this shoes for years, and I love it. I upgrade every year. Not sure what happened, but the size I ordered this time feels snug against the toes. This is the second pair I've had in this size and style. I hope it's a fluke!

I used to run in Saucony and only Saucony in my twenties. Now, after kids, I have tried Nike and Mizunos and finally ordered another pair of Saucs. I should have stayed with them all along. I love the motion control and cushioning. For my feet, they can't be beat!

I have been running in these shoes for over a year and just completed my first marathon in them. They are comfortable and fit my feet well- no blisters at all during the race! I bought 4 extra pairs to ensure I have them for some time to come!

On the plus side, the ...

2

On the plus side, the Progrid cushioning is exceptional--the best cushioning of any running shoe I've ever tried. Sadly, that's outweighed by the negatives. The stability and arch support are both seriously inadequate. The fit in the heel and midfoot also are very poor. Saucony used to be renowned for its wide, roomy toeboxes but nice snug heel fit. Not so with this shoe! The heel and midfoot are cut very wide; even medium-sized feet will be unstable and slide and develop blisters. That's compounded by inadequate padding around the heel, which would have helped hold the foot in place. The heel also is cut on the high side, causing discomfort. I bought the Hurricane as a replacement for my Etonic Jeparas. While the Hurricane's cushioning and low weight are both superior to the Etonic Jepara, its negatives are so great that I expect I'll be returning to the Jepara. Bottom line: don't buy this shoe if you're looking for a stability shoe or the vaunted Saucony fit.

These shoes really work for me. When I wear Asics Kayanos, I get a blister in my right arch. With these shoes, I don't. I tried both the Hurricane 10 and Hurricane 11 and I like the Hurricane 10's MUCH better.

I was excited to get these shoes because i like Saucony shoes, actually one of my favorite brand of shoes, however, after running in these shoes for 5 miles my legs were killing me my feet hurt hurt. I am thirty five, 160 pds very active (favorite sport is running) and i was very disappointed with this shoes i am sending them back to try the asics, pearl and or triumphs. Can anyone tell me about any of these shoes. I live in north dakota so it's cold here most of the time so i run on the treadmill 5 to 6 miles 5 to 6 times a week, which of these would be good for that type of running? when it gets nice outside, most of my running will take place on the road or outside track. PLEASE HELP I LOVE TO RUN BUT I DON'T WANT TO KEEP TRYING OUT DIFFERENT SHOES IT SLOWS MY PROGRESS DOWN :}

5

These shoes are fantastic! I bought them on the recommendation of the Trak Shack in Trussville, AL. I was having trouble with my IT band due to slight overpronation, but these shoes gave me just the right amount of support. I just completed my first half marathon in them last weekend - with no knee pain. I definitely recommend them!

I give this shoe three ...

3

I give this shoe three stars because the cushioning is outstanding--probably the best in the busines. The negatives, however, unfortuantely outweight that. The arch is extremely flat and arch support therefore is seriously inadequate for anyone with normal to high arches. Even in the wide size, the toe box is narrower than expected. And when the shoe goes from medium to wide width, the heel and midfoot widen a lot, and thus lose the vaunted Saucony fit (narrow heel, wide toebox). I bought these shoes hoping for that vaunted fit, and was sadly disappointed.

5

I need some stability (not a lot but I can't wear a "neutral" shoe), I have a flat arch, and I need wide width shoes - these have been great. Prior to this I wore the Guide, which is also great but the cushioning would wear out after about 100 miles and my knees/feet would start hurting. This one lasted 170 miles before I replaced it with the Cush Runner, also availabe from RRS. Both shoes are fine if I'm running <5 miles, but for 7+ miles this Hurricane has held up well. I just wish they made a trail shoe for wide width folks!!!

I'm surprised to read all of the bad reviews on this shoe. I LOVE this shoe. With most running shoes I've had trouble with them making my ankle hurt, blisters, short tongues slipping to the side- this shoe right out of the box was perfect. I've had them for about 6 months, I teach body step, take body attack, and I run and they have been just great. I think they are very versatile for a running shoe! I love it and I'm about to order another pair. I think that, for me- it was hard to find a perfect shoe- and I found the one for me.

I love these shoes. I am a medium-frame runner with medium arches and slight over- pronation. I can run short distances or long distances in these shoes and -- for the first time, I'm able to run 6 days a week without soreness in my calves. After a session with the ShoeDog, I switched to the Hurricane from the Triumph (which didn't stabilize enough) and I've been very happy with them. Don't know what to say about the negative reviews except that there must be another shoe out there for them.

Great out-of-the-box fit ...

2

Great out-of-the-box fit and overall a very comfortable shoe; however, the outsole durability is just not acceptable foe a $130 shoe (or for any shoe for that matter). I got about 200 miles out of my first pair, thinking that this must be an anomaly I purchased a second pair only to find them wear out just as fast in the heel outsole area. For the record, the Paramounts, Guides and new omni 7's all have better outsole durablity.

I've been looking for the right running shoes for a long time! I've finally found something that works perfect for me. I'm a light weight runner that slightly overpronates with medium to low arches...These shoes are very roomy in the toe box (I have wide feet), but narrow enough in the heel to fit just right. I wear them with super green feet insoles for extra support, as I don't think the shoes provide just enough stability.

These shoes were just perfect until I reached 150 miles. At that point one heel was so worn down I couldn't wear them. I sent them back to Saucony with a letter of complaint, and they replaced them with new ones at no charge. The new ones got me through my race, but guess what - at about 150 miles the heels are completely worn through. They are too expensive to have this short of a life - I need an alternative!

3

I got fitted for the first time and this was one of the few that was recommended to me along with the Asics Kayano. I loved the cushioning of the shoe, the width, and the toe box. Well. I went for a short 4 mile run and my knees were aching after the 3rd mile. I've never experienced this before with my last pair of shoes. As others have stated, lots of cushion but no support. So, back to the store they go.

2

I have worn the Hurricane 7 and 8 and 9 and even with each minor change, I still loved the shoe. However...the Hurricane 10 is completely different! The toe box is tighter, the heel looser, it feels soft, but not stable... I am soooo disappointed that now I have to go find a completely different shoe! I hope saucony will realize their mistake and bring back the 9 - or at least something close to it!

2

I was disappointed with this update. I fell in love with the ProGrid Hurricane 9's and can't figure out why Saucony thought they needed to update! The Hurricane 10's lack arch support and the toe box has been narrowed significantly...the shoes rub against my big toe. I tried the wide width and they did the same thing. I ended up going with the ProGrid Omni 6 ultimate instead. Very disappointing.

Geat update. I haven't been impressed with the Hurricane since the 7, but this shoe really delivers. Outstanding fit with amazing cushioning. Good job Saucony!

Just to clear up a few earlier comments, the Hurricane 10 is a bit lighter in weight than the 9 but it's still intended for medium-large framed runners with low-medium arches. If you have higher arches, a better match would be the Triumph 5. Happy running!

Saucony Hurricanes were always a stability shoe for heavy weight runners. Now, on their tenth attempt, they are recommended for light-weight runners. It seems they are trying to make-up for the exceedingly poor engineering in all of the 2008 models. In my opinion, Stride-Rite has destroyed their line of top quality running shoes.

I have put 50 miles on these shoes and I love them. People have commented that it wasn't supportive enough, but it has been great for me!

This new shoe doesn't compare to the Hurricane 9, which I absolutely loved. I am disappointed with the stability/arch support and the toe box is more narrow, which doesn't allow for my feet to spread naturally (I do not have wide feet). Pricey shoe for what you get. I thought I found my forever shoe in Saucony Hurricane 9, but the 10 falls short.

This shoe should be called Suckony!! Yes it is cushoned and lighter, but the attempt for stability with the ne arch-lock keeps one's foot from spreading naturally. Save your feet: look elseware!

The Hurricane has gotten cheaper and cheaper. The new Arch Lock is nothing more than a plastic strip. The stability protection on this model is far less than that of previous incarnations. If you need a quality stability shoe, I would advise against this one. I hope that Saucony goes back to the great shoe the Hurricane once was.

The saucony hurricanes 10s are a great shoe. I bought mine and ran 20 miles in them the next day. They felt great! I could have gone up a half size though.
