These are my first pair of Sauconys and I can readily say that I will be paying close attention to this brand in the future. I put custom insoles in these guys so I can't comment on the original ones but the shoe is terrific regardless. Hot-spot free, light, and excellent fit for my narrow heel but not-so-narrow foot. The thing I love most about these shoes is the Vibram soles! I actually took these on a day hike up Half Dome and back and they were excellent on slippery granite. Forget the hiking shoes, it's trail runners from here on out. Love, love, love.
Be aware: they ARE on the smaller side, so order 1/2 size up. I ordered a full size up to account for foot swelling when doing extremely long distances and they've performed beautifully with lightweight wool socks.

Trail running with ice buckets
I used these to bartend--running back and forth to the kitchen, up and down stairs with ice buckets and on and off the mats. Traction is good. Cushioning is good. The arch support could be a little better and please--make them more water resistant!
They are also pretty good for trail walk/running!

Best trail shoe so far!
For an ultra runner, these are a great choice. Comfortable right out of the box and the flexibility is far superior to the Cascadias, which feel stiff to me.
Well designed and comfortable shoe.
Love the way the laces works. I have wide feet and it allows me to have more room for my toes yet holds my ankles snug. Love this shoe.

Lightweight, very stable, good traction, good for trail running.
I have been running on a gravel trail recently and find that these shoes are great in stabilizing each step I run. They are also perfect for that kind of abuse! I love the look and feel and would definitely recommend these shoes to someone who runs on courses other than pavement.
like these shoes
I have a narrow foot with a high arch and these fit perfectly right out of the box. I run on mixed road and dirt paths, 20-25 miles a week. These have been really comfortable, with the one exception that the toe box is a bit tight. I just wear thin socks with these.
