I wore these shoes for the Georgia Tough Mudder a few weeks ago. The shoe's grip and traction was great on the rugged trails, and light weight for the river swims. Great on all terrains' gravel, leaves, loose rock, clay, and mud. The laces never loosened on regular trail runs. The only bad point was that at the completion of the tough mudder the toggle lace became so packed with clay that I had to have the laces cut in order to get the shoes off!
I have a narrow foot and have trouble finding a trail shoe that fits but sizing to my true size allowed for my narrow width.
I usually use super feet insoles but I like the light weight insole that came with this shoes which allow you to feel the ground.

Use these for trail running and hiking. Very comfortable and supportive. They are a little heavy if you want to be competitive, which I don't care about. I also have trouble with the laces. They will not unlock so I can loosen them to take the shoes off. Maybe it it just me, but I have had these for a year and have tried and tried! Oh well. I really like Salomon's, always have. Good shoe, but I plan to get a different Salomon model next pair.

Former avid runner/tri-athlete. Currently have foot issues due to heel spurs. I can spend all day in these shoes with no discomfort, fatigue or issues the next morning. Fits like a glove. The laces conform to any fit. The recommendations said to buy a half size larger. I found they were a true 8. Love them. Own 3 pairs.

Nice rugged trail runner. I run on true technical trails- through the woods,over steep hills with rough rocky terrain. These provide good support...quite a bit stiffer than other trail runners I've had. High arch support- feet were actually slightly achy after first run (not used to so much support), but they are breaking in nicely now.
