Smartwool - the perfect sock

5

First the disclaimer: I only wear wool socks. I rarely wear anything other than Smartwool. I credit merino wool for keeping my feet warm and heathy. The PHD series wears much, much faster than the standard Smartwool socks. However, the difference the thinner sock makes for road running can not be denied. It has a little extra padding in all the right places and conforms perfectly to the foot to reduce blistering and bruising. (Before I developed bunions I had no blistering with these at all on runs under 14 miles. Now, I get light blistering at 10 miles.) I wear a slightly heavier sock for trail running.

Toasty warm!

5

These socks are warmer than I thought they'd be, which is a good thing since I live in Minnesota. I've worn them a few times and the socks have kept my feet so warm that I have been able to wear my lighter running shoes rather than the heavier trail shoes that I wear during the winter. I like the way they fit and look. All around, I love these socks!

Comfortable and supportive

5

I have purchased Feetures and Balega socks, but these are the best. They provide support, a decent amount of cushioning and the wicking qualities of wool. But they are not too warm for summer running. They do not slide or bunch.

Nice!

Very pleased with these socks. I really needed something warm for this time of year and these fit the bill nicely. Plenty warm but not overly thick.

Sock it to me!

Great for winter time running. Really keep your feet warm and dry. However, I don't find that they wear well. They seem to get a bit threadbare through the toe.
