Once I saw this item on sale with RRS, I jumped on board to make sure I got this. It was for the assorted/unisex pack. Great. You get the best of all flavors. A little sour but that's because of the electrolytes. Great alternatives to gel.. Only down fall is the packaging doesn't fit well into my shorts pocket.

Watermelon Beans are Grrrrreat!!
Awesome, used for the Calico 50K, several training runs, and as quick pick me up at work. They didn't get our half-way packs to us during the race so I ran the final 14 miles with 2 packs of Watermelon Sport Beans and the sport drinks they had at the aid stations (4,5, & 6). I finished with one pack of beans to spare, they kept me going!! Taste great to boot!
They Really work
These are great for long runs and races over ten miles. The trick is to empty a couple bags into your pocket before you begin, because the package is impossible to deal with. I chew a couple every other mile after ten miles. These along with lots of gu and sports drink seem to keep me going.

The Sports Beans are so much easier to manage and take than the pasty supplements that are available. I eat a couple before my long run and at the middle of a long run. I love the fact that they don't leave the sugary aftertaste in your mouth like candies do. As long as they're left in the easy to seal packaging, they don't sweat and get sticky with you.
For More than Just Sports!
I purchase these not only for myself to use when I need a boost to workout but mainly for my wife. She has Multiple Sclerosis and takes a lot of medicine. The medicine makes her drowsy most of the time. So, when she does need to be alert she simply takes about half packet of the beans (that is all it takes for her). The recloseable packet adds to convenience of the product.

Good Energy Booster!
I take these with me on every Long run over 5miles. I typically start eating them about half way through my runs, on really long runs after about 11miles when I hit that wall I take them. I hate gels and tried these on a whim for my first marathon and they worked great. Now I order them for the training process for the second marathon!!
They are great snacks. I eat them like Jelly Beans all the time. They taste great and are easy-to-carry, but I don't expect them give me much energy like Gels like GU and others. A bit harder to dissolve in mouth during runs, but no problem at all before or after.

Hooray for variety
I hate buying my food products in just one flavor. These are a nice alternative to bars and goo stuff.
Only issue is that it can be hard to open the packaging while biking. Besides, do jelly beans ever not make you smile? Well they might not if you're in your tunnel of pain while running but at least it's a change.
A Marathon Must
Buy the box for best value. During long run training and last two marathons I took 3 or 4 beans every mile (cherry w/caffiene) and was a good boost and no side effects like i've had with gels.
worth a try for training and race day
I agree with everyone else's assessment. The beans taste good and they help maintain ones energy level; however, they are VERY difficult to open at any point during a race. I used them 11/27/2010 in La., in 30 deg temps. Try reopening these darn bags with gloves on.

I found gels effective, but not palatable, and messy. Sports Beans are tasty, easy to take before and during runs, and very effective in providing sustained energy throughout the run.
I use Sport Beans during long runs and have used them in a marathon and adventure 1/2 marathon. Both times they did an excellent job at giving me that burst of energy I needed. The beans didn't upset my stomach and they were a nice change of pace from gels.
Tastes great as opposed to the goo products that do not. Especially on the bike, it is impossible to open and use while riding. I have used these since they came out the cherry especially.

Good alternative to gels
I love the orange and lemon lime flavors. Sport Beans have never upset my stomach on long runs like gels do sometimes. The only cons for me are the package is hard to get into while running, they require a lot of chewing, and they need a good amount of water to help get them down. If gels upset your stomach sometimes, then I recommend these.

These are delicious and easy to carry wherever you go. Gives a boost of energy. Great for those longs run when you get hungry and gels just wont do. Great for hiking, biking running and traveling.
Awesome, but watch out for caffeine...
I got the watermeron ones, they were so good and easy to use...but one thing I wasn't paying attention was the big "caffeine" on the top of the bag. I was eating it during and after night race, and holly cow I was up all night! Morning race only my friend...
Better than gu
Easier to use than gu and way more convenient to carry and eat during a run.
The caffeine varieties have a slightly bitter taste.
I use several packs during long runs and marathons.
I am training for my first marathon and have never been a fan of gels. I really like the Sports Beans because they are easy to carry and eat. They really make a difference on my long runs.

Great Mid Race Fuel
These are great for long distance runs! Unlike the gels that can be messy you can throw a few of the beans in your pocket and grab them easily mid race for a quick pick-me-up.
The watermelon flavored sports beans are sweet but not too sweet. You should take them a half hour before your workout/run and when they kick in the energy surge you get will allow you to push yourself more. You'll feel like you could go farther, and run faster.

I love to use beans at water stops during long runs and my Dad uses them at softball tournaments. He's 80 years old and loves them...got him a box for Christmas!
Easy to carry and eat during long runs
What I love about Sport Beans is that they don't melt in my pocket during long, hot Atlanta runs. They don't get messy like gels. Plus they are crunchy, tasty, and easy to handle on the run.
This is a great product that has a good taste and is easy to use. To make it better I would make the package larger and maybe have a maximum strength line.
These beans are yummy and definitly provide the extra energy you need to get started but most importantly sustain a long hard workout without any caffeine jitters or crash.
Need More Energy!!
I used the sport beans prior to a run for a boost of energy. The sport beans taste great and don't give you that "full" feeling during a workout. Good source of energy for intense workouts.

I always keep this product stocked.
I use this product to fuel the last hour of my long runs to get a break from the gels used for the first hours. Nice change of pace. i think of it as a treat. The rezip bags are a plus.
The taste is very good (except the lemon/lime...ick), and it seems to help with energy. I've not used any other product. I take half a bag 30 before a run with water.

I love sport beans because they taste great but are small enough that they dissolve quickly so they are easy to eat while running or biking.
GREAT AS A PRE-RUN SNACK!
I like to eat a few of these before my runs. They are best taken with a glass of water. The assorted pack has some really good flavors.
They taste great. I don't know if they help as I am slowly increasing my distance, but they taste good and are easy to carry. Learning how to chew and run at the same time :)

I used Sport Beans in my 50k Endurance Race - they are easily tolerated in the stomach and don't feel heavy. It carries well during long races as well. I highly recommend using Sport Beans in Long events such as Ultra's (among other things)..

My favorite is the watermelon because it's not too sweet and tastes great. Cherry and fruit punch were a little overpowering in flavor. Definitely very easy to carry and eat on the go.

I enjoy the orange and lemon lime, then tried the caffeinated cherry. It was too much flavor. These are a great size but best with water. I am now scared to try the watermelon.

Love the caffeinated Cherry flavor. Sport Beans are really convenient because of their smaller size. With larger gummy brands (Gu Chomps, Luna Moons, etc) I was cutting them in half to get bite sized pieces.

It may be placebo effect, but eating 1/2 a pack after about an hour of running gives a nice lift with no stomach issues. Great for long training runs-easy to digest. Love the orange.May try the caffeinated flavors too!
