Good heel stability

I weigh 200 pounds and run 30 miles per week in the New Balance 1063. I've logged at least 2000+ miles in these insoles so I know them well. I just threw out my old pair after about 800 miles and bought a new pair. The side of my heel becomes injured with standard insoles. This superfeet insole stabilizes the side of the heel very well and it does not injur. As soon as I remove the insert and replace it with any other, the injury returns. But it comes at a price. By stabilizing the heel the insert lifts the heel slightly, focusing even more pressure on the insole (ball) of your foot. So if you are prone to plantar fascitis (pain in the ball of the foot) these insoles will make it worse. Due to the lifted heel, a shoe lacing pattern that keeps the heel from slipping up and down is suggested. This website shows how to do this. They also advertise the insoles as "comfortable". That IS NOT one of the strengths of these insoles. There is virtually no cushioning (hense the good durability). It is like running on a brick, very hard surface. Sales people will tell you that the cushioning should come from the shoe and not the insole or socks. But years of experience has taught me that this is only partly correct. Anyone with plantar fascitis will agree. With these inserts I use two pairs of thick socks. Conclusion: It is a trade off depending on your needs. Great for heel stability and preventing injury from the arch back to the heel. Terrible for what it does to the ball of your foot and comfort.

SUPERFEET® SYNERGIZER GREEN INSOLE : My feet were hurting after a work out, aching. My shoes fit, the right fit for my walk/run and I loved them, but after a workout I still had aches. My husband swears by Superfeet so I tried a pair. Cons: At first the arch felt funny, in the wrong spot, but after a few hours of wearing the shoes around the house it seems the conformed to my foot. My foot sits higher in the shoe, also felt funny. Pros: The superfeet molded to my feet perfectly. I no longer notice the higher feel of the shoe after wearing them. My previous foot pain is gone! My shoes that I love now love my feet back! Thank you SUPERFEET! It truly is the best insole around!!

SuperFeet Green insoles

4

For the first time; I actually had the color (green in this case) bleed through to the socks I was wearing. I was shocked as I've had SuperFeet insoles for several years now. I called them and they sent me out a new pair for replacement. Quality. Now I can see why RoadRunner sells them, both companies are quality. Even though I run in Kayano's; I still want the best insole to protect my joints/body. At 200 lbs, any reduction in pounding on my knees, etc is worth every penny. And SuperFeet don't disappoint. One suggestion for SuperFeet is that they need to get rid of the Orange version or try to differentiate the Green from the Orange better. The differences are so small, it is confusing to consumers. For those that want to know, the Orange version has slightly more forefoot padding (very slight) and the Green version has a different bottom design (plastic part).

Superfeet Great Choice for Your Footbed

4

I am a walker/exercise machine user. Flat feet. The only negative about SuperFeet is, perhaps, counterintuitive: because of my flat feet, I feel more energized with a really high arch. SuperFeet provide more arch support than any other insole I have tried - including prescription orthotics! And they are durable - even after I have retired a pair from active exercise, they go into the Sauconys that are working in my garden - due to their flexibility and breathability. I think I still have almost every pair of SuperFeet I have ever purchased - at least 20+ pairs!

One of the best

I have used these supports for years. I have them in all of the shoes that I wear on a daily basis to help the position of my feet when I walk. It helps eleviate the pain in my back from injuries, plus prevents my legs from unnessesary pain during workouts. I have also used these for my children in their sports. Because of their participation in sports, the ususal growing pains are usually magnified. One of our first steps is to place these supports in their shoes to aid in their foot placement, helping them to run and walk better and eleviate pain. Our family always has these supports in their shoes.

Great Product!

5

I started training for Half Marathons and Marathons 2 years ago and I've used a lot of running shoes. Good running shoes are paramount when doing the miles for these events. Even more important than the shoes are the insoles. I haven't used anything but these insoles since I started training for these distances and they do make a real difference in comfort and stability. Also, I have used them in New Balance and ASICS Stability+ (2E width) shoes with having to modify the insoles at all. Nice!

"Going green never felt so good"

I have used Superfeet Insoles for a year and a half for running short (5K to 10K) and long (half marathons) distances. These insoles have had a profound change in my running posture and have alleviated undue stress in my lower back. I have recently began to use these insoles in hiking boots and the support is great.

Best insoles

5

This is my second pair of these insoles, they lasted through two pair of running shoes. I am a slight overpronater, and they turn good stability running shoes into GREAT running shoes, just the right amount of support. I also feel they have corrected the way I walk when I do not have them in my other shoes! They also offer good arch support, so no crampy arches :)

Superfeet are super sweet!

5

I have used superfeet insoles for approx. 8 years. Superfeet are the only insoles that have worked for me others have felt bulky and almost painful to walk on. I use them in my running shoes as does my daughter they have helped me avoid hip pain for yrs! My daughter also a long time user credits them for her relief of IT band pain.

Good Insoles for Stability+ Shoes

5

These are great insoles and with the shoes I use I don't have to modify the insoles at all. They fit great and really provide extra comfort on those long training runs that come with Marathon and Half Marathon training... I've also used these insoles with different shoes (NB and ASICS) and have really prevented a lot of blisters which I always got without using these insoles.

Fantastic

5

Used these after recommended by an RRS tech. I tried the RRS support inserts and they were not helpful. I run about 25 miles/ week and started developing ankle and knee pain. Within a week after using Superfeet I started to notice a big drop in the pain. They feel funny at first because they push on the rear of the arch and feel like they are the wrong size. That went away after the first run.

Superfeets are supergood

5

I use these for hiking, running and golfing. As a 50 plus woman my feet are feeling the wear and tear of years of pounding. These tend to make not only my feet but my knees and hips feel good. It is important to note that you should replace these as often as you replace your shoes.

5

I use the insoles in my running shoes and my work shoes (that have a removable insert). They drastically help ease arch pain. The inserts made my arches ache the first 2 times running with them, but by the 3rd run, they were broken in. I have 2 pair now. The first pair I bought in November 09 and the only sign of wear is that the name has worn off.

I was very impressed with ...

5

I was very impressed with the insoles and vow to never take another running stride without them. I have been running most of my life and have always had slight pain behind the knee cap -- I can feel it more and more now that I'm a bit older. I have tried every strech known to man and the pain remained. I concluded that this was just a normal part of "no pain, no gain"; I would fight through the discomfort during many runs and races -- to include a full marathon. These insoles instantaneously corrected the problem and I no longer have knee pain. I've used them on many runs so far up to and including nine-miles and have yet to experience any discomfort. I wonder what took me so long to buy a pair?? The insoles are stiffer than what I'm used to, but the Asics trainers that I use (Gel Nimbus) more than make up and provide for an overall cushy ride. And lastly, I haven't had any trouble with the squeaking.

These are great insoles ...

5

These are great insoles and actually just as good as custom orthotics. I got a pair of custom orthotics, they had very little shock absorption. These super feet have the benifit of shock absorption, plus the support I need. I have narrow feet with high arches. There is definatley a break in period. Be patient, after about 10 runs they will start to break in and you will be glad you got these! I would suggest using these with a neutral cushioned shoes. If you normally wear a stability shoe like I did, then put these in, it will be too much support and throw you off or possibly cause some new pain. Once I used them in a neutral shoe, they were awesome for injury prevention and cushioning, they were perfect.

In 2002, I had to stop ...

5

In 2002, I had to stop running for two months due to a stretched Achilles tendon. I bought a pair of SuperFeet and took them to my podiatrist. He was drooling so much over them that I questioned if I would ever be able to wear them! Seriosuly, he flatly stated that this product was almost as good as products that cost four times as much. Since then, I have always used SuperFeet, and my injuries have added up to a total of zero. I did buy some new running shoes last fall, and the store owner suggested running in the shoes for a month prior to inserting new SuperFeet, and he was correct. Also, IMO, SuperFeet will extend the length of your running shoes for an extra 200-300 miles. Even without that, and with the injury protection that SuperFeet provide, they are well worth the price.

Bought these in the hopes ...

4

Bought these in the hopes of addressing PF in one heel, and tried them out in my normal shoes first (NB991). These are the shoes that I wear during the day, walking around town, and the insoles felt GREAT. The heel cup is quite comfortable, and the PF morning pains seemed to evaporate almost immediatedly. Feeling good, I then tried them in my Adrenalines for an easy run, and by mile 3, I had to to stop and walk. The hard plastic shell was digging into both arches causing serious hot spots. Felt like I had broken seashells in both shoes. So it goes. I'll keep them in my walking shoes and continue to look for a different solution in my running shoes. ps - I have pretty flat feet and moderate overpronation.

5

I can't say enough about these - I have plantars fasciitis and am in a marathon training program. Each week the pain was getting worse, to the point where after all the work I thought I was going to have to give it up. A friend recommended these and the first run they took a little getting used to as the slightest pressure on my arches hurt and these snug things up a bit, but at the end of the run I was doing better, and with each run since then (have had them for ,2 weeks), it's gotten better and better. The difference is really unbelievable...I'd tried a dozen different things and these are the best. Highly recommend...

So far, so good!

5

I am 5'6", 138 lbs with normal arches. I have been struggling with plantar fasciitis and mild pronation issues for the past 2 years. My sports medicine doctor recommended I get these insoles for my running shoes. I've been running on them for three weeks and I'm seeing a big improvement in how my feet feel after my runs. In fact, I've started wearing my running shoes as much as possible and my feet feel so much better at the end of the day when I spent it on these insoles. I had tried other after-market insoles but none were as supportive as these. They are very stiff and really control the inward roll of my heel. Might feel a little strange at first, though. So far, I'm very impressed with these and recommend them to other runners with similar issues. I'm thinking of buying more to put in my work shoes.

I have been wearing superfeet in my combat boots for the past three years...two of those deployed overseas. They have saved my feet on many many long nights and long training events. I put them in my running shoes too and couldn't live without them. The person who wrote a review after just beginning running, should have started out with just running shoes and figured out what worked for them. It is certainly not a cut on the insoles. They are great and I have been running with them in my shoes for years as well, and running for 15 years without them. I never go without them now.

I just started running recently and finally went to Road Runner to get fitted for some real running shoes. I was so excited. It was suggested that I get a pair of the green insoles for arch support and stability. I just got back from my first run and have a hugh blister on the arch of my left foot and a small one in the same place on my right foot. The insoles are to high, to hard, not for me. I am very disappointed. I didn't have any problems with my cheap shoes and 10 year old orthothics. However, my insoles didn't squeak, I probbaly didn't run long enough in them. Any advise?

These are great and work well with both my training and running shoes as far a support goes. The only complaint I have is that that the heel cup has a tendency to squeak due to the plastic bottom which is annoying. Also, I bought these in store and the sales person sized them for me (which was great) but unfortunately, he used a pen to outline the size and the ink later transferred on to my new socks. I'm a first time buyer of these insoles. I've tried others. I wanted something more durable and longer lasting than the standard insole shipped with the shoe. This is it. One of my major requirements was low profile so my foot rides at the same level as the stock insole, and doesn't make the shoe fit "tight." This is it. My suggested cautions: You cannot run on them "right out-of-the-box" like so many reviewers like to say. You have to get used to them as they are different. They are definately more firm than stock insoles. If you like running on spongy foam rubber then these insoles are not for you. They do, however, provide a "very" stable platform to run on. After using them for three months now, I'm still impressed with their stability, low profile, and durability. And yes, I will buy them again for my next pair of shoes. I'm particularly pleased that I started using them from day one with my new pair of shoes. They were broken in together as a unit.

These surprised me. I have a high arch and thought I didn't need "motion control" and tried more cushioned types. Went back to these after achilles problems all summer. Must say, these are AMAZING! Problem-free for 5 months and now back in marathon training. Very highly recommeded!

I really enjoy wearing these, and they don't make any noises as some of the previous reviewers have observed. They gradually correct my running by straightening out my knees as they tend to point inward when I run. Initially, it felt a bit strange, but after running in them, my legs and feet felt less tired than usual after a long run. You won't even notice anything different after a mile; it has an excellent feel to them.

The green are too thick and take up too much shoe room for my high instep. The blue are awesome and fit snuggly into my Brooks T4 Racers.

really helped with PF. Great support and shock absorption. If they squeak just put a litte baby powder in your shoe! :)

low rating due to...of all things the skeaky, noisy, palstic bottoms. It may be a mismatch with my shoes. I'm swapping shoes, but I'm sure the noise will follow. Too bad. Otherwise, seems to do the job.

Can only give these inserts a below average rating because they are the noisest, loudest, insert I have ever heard. I got it figured to be the plastic bottoms having a crunchy, mismatch affect with the Adias Super Novas. Too bad. The ride is great, but they wake up the family, scare the animals, and attract too much attention at the health club.

I've been wearing the blue ones for a while in my running shoes. They did take a while to get used to, but now I can't run without them--less arch and muscle pain. I bought a pair of men's size 9-11 Superfeet thinking they had more cushion than the blue. They have more arch support than the blue. Too much support for me, my feet get more sore in the green. I have low-medium arches and moderate over pronation. I'm going to buy another pair of the blue from RRS (my last pair have lasted 3 years with heavy running). Any one interested in a very slightly used pair of the green?

I am a HUGE fan of superfeet, and have them in my hiking boots and hiking, running, and cycling shoes. Has helped with shin splints, achilles issues, and plantar fasciaitis (which only seem to pop up if I'm not using the insoles!)

I had horrible back and hip pain. I started using Footbed, and pain of any kind is a thing of the past. I also truly believe that Footbed has improved my running form.

I love them. I'm in the military and I wear them in my boots. I haven't needed to wear them in running shoes but they're great in boots

The "superfeet" seem to be helping with a pronation problem that was causing hip injuries, but it took me SIX WEEKS to get used to them. I still think they feel weird, but they're helping.

My knee problems (pain) slowly went away. Great in cushion shoes to add stability in a lightweight shoe. As important as the shoe it self.

I can't say enough about these - I have plantars fasciitis and am in a marathon training program. Each week the pain was getting worse, to the point where after all the work I thought I was going to have to give it up. A friend recommended these and the first run they took a little getting used to as the slightest pressure on my arches hurt and these snug things up a bit, but at the end of the run I was doing better, and with each run since then (have had them for ~2 weeks), it's gotten better and better. The difference is really unbelievable...I'd tried a dozen different things and these are the best. Highly recommend...

When I showed these to my podiatrist, he went "WOW". Much like the RRS ad in its magazine, he saw this product as the best thing next to the $250 items he would normally recommend. I started using these and have had no further Achilles problems. Plus, they can extend shoe life to about 1,000 miles.

Both my husband and I have suffered shin problems regardless of running shoe until we discovered these amazing insoles. If you have need of extra support and suffer from arch fatigue during long runs, these are IT!!!!
