An excellent glove for outdoor use when it is cold. I've run in temperatures as low as 20-degrees. The fabric around the base of the glove extends over the wrist, which is nice in that you can have the cuffs of a long sleeve shirt tucked in to keep cold air out. At first, the fingertips were pretty cold, but as the run progressed, the mitten covers provided just enough protection. Still, I would have preferred for the fingertips to be fully covered as with gloves and that the material still be lightweight, but warm and have grip (i.e.--some rubberized pattern). The fabric on over the thumb is a nice touch--a soft terry-cloth type fabric that allows for the nose wiping. The pouches on the back of the hands are perfect for tissues or for soft lens pouches for sunglasses. Although the fingertips are open, some may find it preferable to have the thumb tips be accessible for use of MP3 devices that rely on thumb scrolling. Using the fingertips is a little cumbersome. The stitching around the finger holes could use some reinforcement. Pulling the gloves off from the fingers tends to put wear on those stitches that keep the fabric from fraying. Finally, in regards to the mitten covers, they, too, could use some sort of rubberized pattern for grip.

Mitten cover needs more insulation

I bought these because I wanted to have the dexterity of my fingertips without exposing my whole hand. I like the glove part of the product. It fits around my hand and fingers well and feels warm and breathable, wicking away any moisture. I also like the length of the glove. Its long enough to fit over my jacket sleeve for an air-tight seal. I was disappointed though in the mitten. The mitten box was very big and the material was thin, causing my fingertips to become cold. I will still use these for my winter runs when the temperature is above freezing, but not for those very cold days.

Surprisingly Warm

5

I was skeptical at first because these mittens are so thin, but they really get the job done. They're not necessarily warm on their own from the get-go, but once you start running and get warmed up they'll keep your fingers toasty on the long haul. I love the convertable design to flip back if things get too warm - don't have to worry about taking them off and possibly losing one! I also like the clip that keeps them tethered when not wearing so they don't get lost in the shuffle.

Love these mittens!

I love these mittens. There is soft terrycloth on the thumbs to wipe your nose and fleece on the bottom around your wrists. I don't want to sound gross but in cold weather when you're running, a soft way to wipe your nose is nice. I like that I can fold them over when my hands start to get too warm. I have an older version of these mittens and the updates are useful and well thought out.

Nice Idea

Nice idea. With fingertips exposed, able to use touch screen of my iPhone to use the running applications w/o having to remove the entire glove. However, the mitten flap is not insulated and if the temperature is below 32 degrees, your fingertips will fffffreeze!!

Great functionality and warm!

5

I purchased a pair of running gloves and they weren't warm enough. so, I thought I would give these a try. More than pleased with the warmth and the funcionality of having a glove when needed is great! Plus if your hands get too toasty you can just flip back the mitten.

Love these mittens!

Perfect for cold-weather running...just fold over the mitten portion if your hands get too warm or if you want to cool down a little. The design of these mittens is fantastic. I love the flexibility to expose fingers and the longer cuff helps keep wrists warm, too. Love these!

Asics Run mitten

I run with the gloves/mittens. The velcro sticks to everything so must keep mitten down. The wind goes up through the opening in the mittens. Otherwise, they are comfortable. They may be better for mild cold weather.

Flip the flap write times down

Use it for running in the cold weather. Like how you can flip it back if your fingers get to hot and flip it back if the fingers are getting cold.

They actually WORK & GREAT for COLD runs

4

I use it for trail and road running in cold weather. When mitten cover is on, my hands can get a bit too warm. But I simply remove them and all good. But they block the wind 100% and I've worn them down to about 17 degrees F and they work GREAT. Never had cold fingers with these on!!!

perfect winter glove/mitten

The old asics is nicer as it has a strap to hold back the "mit" part of the pull back off the fingers. The velcro on this is strong but like the strap better. When you get too warm it is nice to pull back the glove and expose the fingers. I live in Michigan and we get cold here.
